I can’t even sign up

Okay so first my school isn’t on here, I go to Brimley in Michigan so I just choose the Soo. Second, it doesn’t let me sign up, I’m trying to create a username and password and it just said “invalid username or password”

doesnt work

i tried to used the app and it will not let me fill in any of the required information.

Very limited

Only suggests extreme liberal colleges which is offensive and doesn’t match anything in profile. Schools of interest do not participate with Scoir. Not helpful, waste of time.

Not very helpful

This app seems good in theory, but it does not provide nearly enough information about each school. Besides giving you an idea of some schools that meet your very basic criteria, it’s not very helpful. It tells you virtually nothing about student life, which is one of the main things prospective students should be looking for. Maybe if it included any information about dorm quality, sports life, the campus climate/landscape, food, words from actual students there, or even more than just an image or two from the entire university it would be useful. But it doesn’t, so the user sees pretty much nothing to set one school apart from another besides the most basic things like location, price, and acceptance rate.
To make matters worse, the acceptance intelligence feature is also pretty impractical. When students should begin creating an idea of colleges they want to apply to, chances are they do not have their final SAT score and GPA yet, and because this information is not able to be altered by a student, and it doesn’t have a feature where you can enter your expected statistics, the prediction is not very accurate. Also, it requires your guidance counselor to edit it, which seems unnecessary, and provides an entire other problem if your guidance counselor takes awhile to update your stats.
So, not only is it very disheartening to see your year old stats projected in a “predictive chance” that is probably pretty inaccurate, but it may drive away students that might be interested in a college that they could actually get into from applying.
I think it’s also worth mentioning that the search feature is very persnickety, and it is difficult to search for a college without it saying “no matches found”.
Overall, I am not very fond of this app, and in 2025, looking for colleges should not be this difficult. However, there aren’t any other platforms that I have found that are any better, and the scatterplot feature is actually very helpful to look at. With some additions and changes, this could be a huge help, unfortunately I don’t believe that it’s there yet.
