Loading Screen

The app has gotten even worse during the last month. Even with full cellular service, the app constantly gets stuck on the loading screen. I usually open the app 5-10 minutes before departure, but it’s taken up to 20 minutes for the app to start logging the trip. By then, I’m too far from my work location to count as a work commute. I’ve requested assistance, but only heard back once in early April.

Frequent Location Problems

Rarely works. Must be exact home and work locations and and if I’m being honest I don’t love the idea of the app always having access to my location. Even when I’m catching the train to work, it doesn’t count as a valid trip because it’s too far from my home.

Very limited

How can you have a transit app for the DMV that starts at 6:30 am? 90% of my coworkers are nearly done their commute by that time

Constant bugs.

Constantly crashing. Forcibly and randomly logging you out. Such an annoying app.

Historical reviews are accurate

The concept of earning rewards for commuting is great, but the execution is poor. I found out about the program and app through the goDMV Commuter Competition. Given the low reviews, I was hesitant to add more frustration to my day. Even though my home and work location are correct and all parameters are met (tracking, commute time, location), the trip log consistently shows trip in progress. I have requested assistance multiple times in the app and have not received a response.

Updated Version

The newest version works! Set it and forget it. Great way to help subsidize the cost of commuting to work with minimal effort.

Crashes Constantly

The idea of getting rewards for your commute is great. Unfortunately, using this app to do it is a frustrating experience and making me wonder if it’s worth it. I have to constantly be monitoring my phone to make sure the app doesn’t crash and I lose the tracking for my trip. Forgot to open the app within the last 2 minutes? Sorry, your trip is ended and you won’t get credit for it. Not to mention sometimes you hit the start trip button and it just doesn’t start. Anyway, great idea, poor execution.

Waste of taxpayers money. Useless

Why waste taxpayers funds for the useless app? Designed by same stupid person . I’m very disappointed by the state of MD. Always wasting funds. Waste of my time. I deleted the app.

Not Getting Points

App not stable. Have had problems getting credited for my commute despite meeting all the requirements - logging my trip as I leave my home or office, and when I get to my destination, the points don’t get credited and even after waiting 48 hours, it still says Trip is under review. I don’t understand why it’s not working - would be nice to know what the problem is, to understand what am I doing that’s wrong.

Horrible

App still not crediting trips from June. Reward processing is longer than 30 days. Credits not applied to transit from office. Horrible app

Better, not perfect

Increasing my review from 1 to 4 stars because they have fixed most of the issues that plagued the app since the initial launch (which was botched, with very poor communication). It works pretty smoothly now, although there are still some extremely basic features that still don’t work, such as deleting a saved address and using Paypal as a payment method. Also it doesn’t let me add a second workplace which is unfortunate for those of us whose work operates offices in several locations.

App does not work

App stopped logging all commute trips (to and from work) made during peak hours. I emailed to notify the issue and no response was given. So disappointing.

Terrible

Trips are always under review, points never accumulate because they are cancelled, commuter miles from work destination to home never populate. Submission for rewards submitted over two weeks ago are still under review. Terrible, please fix the bugs.

App is not working. I can login on the website, but the app just won’t let me click that green login button.

Can’t create an account

App will redirect you to their website to create an account, and after asking for too much information, it will kick you back to the home page and not let you log in.

Possible data collection scam.

Glitchy and non functional

This app is useless. Trips don’t log or record and don’t generate any points. Don’t bother wasting your time on this.

Misses too many trips

Regularly fails to allow me to start a trip, fails to recognise my work address (maybe the bike rack is a few metres from the actual address??) so does not give me points, and so it is vastly understating my actual commuting and, therefore, points. There is no option I can find to claim a journey that is recorded but somehow is not recognised as a commuting trip despite it being clearly a bike ride from my work to my home.

The last app worked much better.

Would be even better if it integrated with Garmin Connect

Hi there – I’m Jenny with Media Beef, the development team behind the CommuterCash app for Commuter Connections. I really appreciate you taking the time to share this detailed feedback, and I’m sorry the app hasn’t been logging your trips accurately—it’s definitely not the experience we want for our users. The issue you mentioned with address recognition and trip tracking is something we’re actively working on improving, especially when it comes to minor GPS variances like a bike rack being slightly off from your workplace location. I’d love to take a closer look at your account and help resolve this. If you can send over your username and/or the email tied to your account, we can investigate and see what’s going on. We are noting your request for integrations like Garmin Connect—it’s great to know that’s something you’d find valuable. Thanks again for your input—it helps us make the app better for everyone.

Still broken

It worked for a couple days and then stopped giving me points, the app is still full of bugs and features that don’t work. They should have kept Incentrip which had some issues but at least WORKED most of the time.
