Disappointingly unplayable
I was looking forward to this. It looks like a lot of fun… except it frequently looks only like gloomy darkness. I get that there’s a vibe but removing the brightness control from the iOS port means I can’t actually see anything, even if I crank my device brightness to max.
In-game brightness is an accessibility feature that allows for variance in ambient lighting, player eyesight, and screen reflections. Device brightness is not especially effective at managing these.
Secondly, my controller doesn’t have a square button, or a circle, or a triangle. It has an X button, but y’all seem to think it’s something different.
I want to like this, but I can’t play if I can’t see, and I can’t play if I can’t control the game.

iCloud Save when?
I want to be able to play on my iPad Mini 7 at night and M2 iPad Pro during the day.
iCloud Saves Not Working
What’s the point of Universal Purchase if crossaving doesn’t work through iCloud Saves. Please fix.

Only bought the game on the weekend so obviously very early days yet , really enjoying what I’ve played so far and the graphics are great and the story is engaging can’t fault the game whatsoever and for a fiver you can’t go wrong, only thing that would have made it better for me is the game can’t be synced between my iPhone and iPad , otherwise love the game.

⚠️ Major storage bug — uninstalling does NOT free your space (please read before installing)
The initial install is a small ~700MB shell, then pulls down ~45GB of assets on first launch. When I deleted the app to free up space, that 45GB+ stayed permanently stuck in “System Data” and would not clear — restarting the device, using the in-game “Delete Asset Packs on Next Run” toggle, and even a full iOS software update all failed to recover it. Trying to reinstall doesn’t help either — the App Store just asks for another 45.1GB on top, since it treats it as a brand new install rather than repairing the old one. So the orphaned data just sits there permanently, doubling with every reinstall attempt.
Remedy’s own support site actually confirms this is a known issue (see “Recovering Lost Storage Space for CONTROL Ultimate Edition on iOS” on their Helpshift page), and their own fix is an unofficial workaround involving deliberately changing your system date to trick iOS into recalculating storage — not something the average player should have to do.
The only fully reliable fix is backing up and doing a complete Erase All Content and Settings on your entire phone. That’s a big ask — for anyone with hardware-bound security apps (banking, government ID apps, etc.) that can’t simply be redownloaded and reconfigured, this isn’t a realistic option, meaning the storage may just be gone for good.
For anyone considering this game: make sure you have well more than 90GB of truly spare storage before installing (not just 45GB), and understand that deleting the app afterward may not give that space back through any normal means. Please, Remedy — this needs a proper patch. An uninstalled app should not permanently hold a device’s storage hostage.
