Latest Update Broke the App
Terrible user interface
It’s ok, but buggy.
That being said, a few times a year you’ll have to uninstall/reinstall because you can’t login. You get stuck on the login page and face a login loop. Only fix it’s what I said.
Every Friday you get an email saying you’ve done nothing even though you’re recording steps. I’ve told this to them and was told “oh just ignore that.” Ok I’ll ignore it but it’s been happening for years, thanks though.
Time zones have an advantage always. West coast sees where you finish the day, then has the ability to get just above that when you’re “competing.”
You constantly have to “refresh” your data to get it to pull it in from your sync source.
Overall it’s not terrible, but these issues are a big annoyance.
App not working 14+
New update screw up, not able to login now
Not connecting to Fitbit tracker
Can’t connect to Apple Health
Syncing is horrible
Good but don’t like the step count for cycling
However, I can’t figure out why the step count for cycling is so low. A 20 km road cycle which leaves me sweating and tired for hours get 70 points, whereas a 5 km walk, literally a walk in the park, where I hardly sweat at all gets me 100 points!
Bugs:
Sometimes when I open the app, it just displays a header and footer and nothing in the middle so I have to kill it to get any of the data or totals.
I’ve also removed the apple sync, but when I went back the next day it was there again!
Loads slow like molasses
Horrible program
As the Wellness Coordinator of our Employee Wellness Program, I was trying to set up a motivational movement challenge that was different than the typical walking challenge. I researched different programs and Count. It seemed like the perfect set-up. There seemed to be many attractive functions such as group journeys, mini-challenges, encouragement of different forms of exercise and the points system.
Before I decided on buying into Count. It, I had scheduled 2 short info sessions with Oliver (the owner and creator of Count.It). Our first session was about 15 minutes long, where he provided a brief overview of the program. Once I decided to move forward with purchasing the program for our challenge, I set up a second info session so that I could ask more detailed questions. This lasted about 20 minutes long. Oliver was helpful, although he moved very fast and at times acted as if I was inconveniencing him and wasting his time. He kept referring me back to specific articles that I had already read through on the website, which clearly were not completely helpful in answering my questions, or else I wouldn’t have requested another info session with him.
The week before our challenge was supposed to start, I set up a final info session with him (this was the third). I wanted to make sure I had a clear understanding of how the program worked since I had never used it before, so that if a participant had a question, I could help. I just wanted this to be a success for our company so that we could promote and continue utilizing Count. It for future challenges.
Note: Scheduling a session with Oliver is a free tool and totally accessible to all consumers from the main website.
During this third and final brief Q&A session is when things started to go really left with Count. It (especially Oliver). We were on a zoom; he was clearly very annoyed to be sitting with me again. I would ask a question; he would answer it with step-by-step instructions in under 5 seconds – I wasn’t able to pick up anything. I asked him to slow down, and he snapped. Again, he referred me to the articles that he had already referred me to and that I had already read over multiple times. He told me he is one of a very small team and that these info sessions are not intended to be utilized the way I was utilizing them. He told me about the $99 info session that I should have seen and purchased on the website. I could go on about how unbelievably rude, unprofessional, and straight up insulting Oliver was. After he laid down the intent of the info sessions for me, I thanked him for his time, and we signed off. This call lasted at most 5 minutes.
Unfortunately, this was not the end of my issues with Count.It. Really, this was just the beginning, as our challenge had not even begun yet and we were committed to using the program that we already spent money from our small Wellness Budget.
Note: I understand that Count. It is not specifically for Employee Wellness Programs. Oliver did tell me that some companies have used it in the past, in the same way I intended to, and that was fine. If he had told me I was taking advantage of this platform and using it improperly, I would not have proceeded with the program.
The challenge begins. When the first day passed, colleagues were confused by their points. I sent an email explaining the conversion. The conversion makes sense if you’re looking at the chart and actually doing the math on a calculator, but who has time for that?
The whole point of utilizing an app for this type of challenge is to take the confusion and additional work out of reporting steps. Instead, nothing added up. It was extremely confusing for everyone.
One aspect I liked about the program before it began was that we could create mini-challenges and distribute gift cards through the app itself. Of course, that was not as user-friendly as it first seemed either, just like everything else. Not only that, the reporting system (that says who won the mini-challenges), did not work – for 2 WEEKS! Both weeks that this happened I had reached out to the Help email. They got back to me days later, apologizing for their technical difficulty and let me know that their IT department was looking into it. Again – the mini-challenge AND gift card functions on this app DID NOT WORK!
All in all, this was a massive disappointment and waste of money. While at first, I choose the program because of the customer service, that quickly went down the drain the second I made the purchase. It was the blind leading the blind. Nothing was user friendly: it was difficult to determine a realistic target destination, the step equivalent conversions were extremely confusing, the app and website were not clear to use, you had to sync the app daily and It drains your phone battery, etc., etc. , etc. Again, the customer service was the worst of it all. So unprofessional. I would NEVER speak to a customer in my industry the way that Oliver spoke to me. I would have loved to continue using this program if it worked as well as Oliver initially presented it as. Huge fail. Don’t recommend.
Awful
Data Syncing - terrible, nowhere near real time
Conversion to points - makes no sense, inconsistent based on data source
Customer support - they just point you to support articles that are not helpful when they do finally respond (as if you didn’t read that first)
Just an embarrassment of an app.
Not very Good
Not accurate
Bad app not accurate
Terrible Health App integration
Too bad, since this is the app chosen to manage a corporate movement challenge, and leaves some screaming for a recount!
Tapping out in this one.
Terrible
DO NOT recommended!
Thought it was ok ... but it is not
Finally, I have reached out to the app support team and after three attempts over 1.5 weeks I got one message (today on the 11 day of waiting) that they have to send this to another support member and still no response or assistance with the app.
Strongly recommend using a different app!!!
