NEVER READS SENSOR

I have my sensor plugged into my OBD2 Port and I have to scan 50 times and close and reopen the app and sometimes it just never reads my check engine light at all, what is going on, my app is updated, why is this happening, not a very good sensor or something, hopefully craftsman will send me a new one after reading this review

Doesn’t even work

I have an I phone 15 latest software and my app is updated and still won’t work this thing is trash

Out of date

The app functions fine but hasn’t been updated in 4 years. They advertise as good for everything post 1996 yet it ends at 2020. So your Out of $60 if you own 2021 or newer

Obd2 scanner

This is the best tool in my tool box with this device I can read codes in real time as I’m driving and reset them while driving great tool

Useful, but needs some polishing

This app and the related OBD device that I purchased to scan my car with is great. It doesn’t have a massive amount of functionality, but alongside the app, I find it useful for tracking maintenance intervals of some basic stuff, or clearing faulty error lights with my previous car. I have some suggestions/complaints for Craftsman, though:
• The function for setting oil change interval preference is rather limited. The app offers three options for change intervals (2500, 5000 and 7500 miles), all of which are reasonable, but it’s silly that I can’t input my own interval (6000 based on the owner’s manual).
• When entering tire tread depth manually, the app only accepts measurements in millimeters, which is a mild annoyance when you own a depth gauge that only measures in inch fractions.
• The app has an irritating bug that randomly adds mileage to the in-app odometer entirely on its own. Earlier this day, I opened it to find it had “recorded” an extra 100-ish miles to the counter, which I proceeded to correct backwards to match my car. I have to do this frequently. There seems to be no pattern or reason for this error.
Craftsman, please consider improving the app accordingly. Thank you for its usefulness so far!

Craftsman OBD Scanner,

I Absolutely LOVE THIS THING. Always 100% right on the money. $50 is a GREAT BUY

Electronic code tool

I was unsure how well this would work especially just connecting straight to my phone…but it is WAY nicer and better than expected!! It clears codes no issues and has a easy to understand interface that works great! Would definitely recommend!!

Auto assist

Auto assist apparently isn’t supported from an iPhone 8

I love it! Five stars!

Great for simple quick diagnostics of my personal vehicle. I’ve left it plugged into my obd2 port for over a year now and never had any battery drain issues either.

Awesome

It is very good and reliable

Won’t clear codes

Has all kinds of info. Just won’t clear codes after I made the repair.

Really has everything!

I am not employed by Craftsman or coerced to write anything. I bought my obd at Lowes. It works great. It immediately showed me 4 codes I need to fix but it also shows all the details of every part of my car. The recalls, MPG, safety ratings & I
was even able to schedule maintenance through it. Really easy to use & very thorough. I love it!!

Unusable

First review I think I've ever written on here, but I have had problems after problems with this sensor and program. Seems like it'd be a good program if it worked, but it does not. My phone will connect to the sensor fine, I have the newest software on my phone, I have the latest version of the app, and it still gives me an error message when I try to do a scan. It tells me to email the help desk and when I emailed the help desk I was transferred to different departments three times and then they stopped responding to me. Emailed two other times and they kept transferring me to different departments and then ghosting me.

It works good

It is a very good thing to have helps save you a trip to AutoZone or the mechanic if you need to know why the check engine light is on in your dash. But once you accidentally input the wrong information in the app your stuck with it and there’s no way to correct it, they have no customer service number to reach out for help or anyway to reset the app and start from scratch.

Perfect

I have 3 cars performance I do mechanic maintenance to each and is a vey nice tool to have
Makes an account for each car and separately stores info of each one obd codes problems tire wear recalls ….

Not supported

I have an IPhone XS with the current update15 something. Purchase the blue tooth device to help with diagnostics on my car went out to connect it and got a message saying it is not compatible. What the heck. I hadn’t left the parking lot yet so went straight back in and returned it.

Needs work

I was able to clear codes and see recommended maintenance fine. But, when I go to read any gauges or sensors they cannot connect.

I Phone 12 Pro Max
IOS 15.1

Okay

Pretty easy to setup, but it can’t keep track of my mileage. Every time I open the app, the mileage is hundreds of miles less than actual and I have to update it again. Doesn’t fill me with confidence that it will actually be able to detect a problem if there ever is one.

Bad loops

Good design with bad execution. App continuously loops requiring a scan every time you press anything on the app, couldn’t clear a check engine light. Uninstalled reinstalled no luck.
