Help! Urgent!

Criptext used to be my favourite email app however a few weeks ago it stopped working correctly. I am no longer able to receive or send attachments including pdf, word documents, jpg any files at all. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling using the option to sync my previous emails from another device. Although the message came up that the sync was successful my inbox is empty! Tried then syncing to iCloud and repeatedly get a failed message “something went wrong” notification. I’m fuming as I’ve now lost all the emails on both of my devices!! Please help as I use this for my business. I have emailed support to no avail.

AMAZING BUT ALSO AMAZINGLY NOT MAINTAINED

For everyone on here having issues and unable to reach support or can not sign up, Criptext is no longer maintained and doesn’t accept new users. It stopped about 2 years ago I think it was. Sorry y’all. If you are ALREADY a user then it is nice to keep in the back of your head. I agree had SO MUCH POTENTIAL AND IS ALREADY (I think) PRETTY AMAZING considering in respect to the world as it is today.

Missing mail

As of June 2024, possibly a bit earlier, I haven’t received all mail sent to me in a timely manner. It arrives after a couple of weeks, if at all.
Tested it out with a friend and it was confirmed.

Too bad, because before that it worked great.

No new sign ups

Unable to sign up, dev hasn’t released an update in over a year, owner is more concerned with his teslas and bread than this service. It’s possibly dead, Jim.

FAQ

What is Criptext Secure Email?

Criptext Secure Email is a service designed around user privacy, offering end-to-end encryption for all your emails. It ensures that only you and your intended recipients can read your messages. Unlike other services, it does not collect or store your emails on its servers, keeping your entire inbox exclusively on your device.

How does the end-to-end encryption work?

The app utilizes the open-source Signal Protocol library for its end-to-end encryption. Each email is secured with a unique key generated and stored only on your device. This means your messages are protected from being read by anyone other than the sender and the intended recipient.

Is Criptext Secure Email free to use?

Yes, the application is available for free. There are no subscription fees or in-app purchases mentioned, and the service does not display advertisements.

Can I verify the security claims of Criptext?

Yes, Criptext is an open-source application. Its source code is publicly available on GitHub, allowing anyone to inspect it and verify that the app functions as advertised regarding its security and privacy features.

What are the main benefits of using Criptext over a standard email service?

The primary benefits are enhanced privacy and security. Criptext provides end-to-end encryption, preventing unauthorized access to your emails, and stores your inbox locally, meaning your data is not held on external servers. This offers peace of mind for users concerned about data collection and privacy breaches.
