The ads for other games are always getting stuck with no way of getting back to crossword other than switch device off and back on again. It’s a pity because I’ve used this for 10 years now and I’m thinking of changing to another which I don’t really want to do.
Really quite good - but
The crosswords are really good considering it’s free, however, as someone previously stated some of the answers don’t match the clue and although the spelling is in English and not entirely Americanese the computer that sets the clues is obviously American as it constantly uses the phrase “soccer” we play football in the UK and when it says “tourist attraction in the UK” it’s always a tourist attraction in London, there are tourist attractions in the UK outside that city and when it says “cities in England” they’re invariably towns, but having said that it’s a really good app although from a finicky Englishman a little frustrating

As a quick (and free) auto-generated simple crossword it seems worth having. It would seem to have minimal privacy invasions so appearing ‘safe’ for those concerned about personal data. This is an illusion: of the 700+ ‘partners’ where you can withdraw consent to info sharing, most will be turned back on automatically.
There are no cryptic clues, irrespective of difficulty level. Perhaps the biggest minus is that periodically rather long adverts appear for other games. Some of those games also have extremely loose privacy policies. It also means a waiting time with adverts before the next puzzle is made available (to get round that though, close then reopen the app).

Excellent crosswords
For harder clues read less relevant answers
On the easier crosswords the clues seem to fit the correct answer very well, but as you increase difficulty levels you start to see clues that have little or no relevance to the answer required. In some cases it’s just the tense is wrong, in others it seems the clue writers don’t use or understand English. I finally gave up when the answer to which city a football club came from was completely wrong.

Les définitions en lien avec la culture n’est que canadienne anglaise ou américaine. Je trouve, mais comme je ne consomme pas ou très peu ces cultures, ça me déçoit.
Language Barrier
I like that this crossword game, unlike those from other appsmiths, has a database of words/clues, randomly selecting a grid and filling in the boxes. The rivals feel they have to employ a fleet of gridsmiths to write about a hundred puzzles.
While I set the wordometer to US, the clues tend to be sounding UK. I do not knock other lands, but after the fracas from the 1770s, the lingos developed differently. I wish somebody else could make a random crossword filling engine and make the DB more localized.
One more thing: I echo other users who’d like to see a panic button in case a puzzle is too tough and want to stop the game and get off.
