Terrible app
This app is missing so much and it is too much work looking for information about the cruise and the itinerary. They are so busy trying to give "friendly" names to the Links that they overlook the fact that people are simply looking for:
1). Checkin
2). Itinerary
3). deck plans
4) excursion information
Also, why on earth is the boarding pass not available to send to our "wallets". If the wifi isn't working properly (which we have experienced at the pier in the past) the boarding pass isn't accessible. If you want us to go digital, don't tell us to print it, make it available to send to our wallet. I ended up taking a screenshot for backup

Horrid Design/Build

Shore Cruises/Food
Disappointed with the two shore cruises we booked through NCL. The first tour we took in Sapporo, although our guide was friendly, he was not as knowledgeable and at times difficult to understand. Second tour in Busan was very disappointing! Three stops in Busan but just NOT ENOUGH TIME to explore & enjoy the stops. Very rushed because of traffic and each stop was incomplete. Visit to the last stop at the fish market was extremely disappointing. We were really looking forward to this stop because we love to eat and expected to have enough time to sample and buy foods to try. Which didn’t happen. Through out this tour we were always on a super tight and rushed time frame. However our guide Mimi and bus driver Mr Kim tried to do the best they could and did a great job. Thought these two tours was not worth the price for what we got. We booked other off shore excursions independently that were awesome and much cheaper than NCL. Not sure if we would book shore excursions through NCL again. Don’t mind paying the price but it has to be worth it.
Also, we had just taken an Alaska cruise with Royal Caribbean. The food was superior to NCL.
The staff and crew on NCL however were awesome!

Not an improvement at all
First day of cruise was a real hassle for everybody involved. Some people had the “new app” and some had the old version of the app. We started out with the old version and paid &9.95 for communications add on. We were only able to contact each other at the time we purchased it and the IT guy was showing how to use it. Turned out you only got a ring if your phone was sitting in the communications app. Upcoming events were only listed for that day, looking at the next day always promised that events would be posted 24 hours in advance, that rarely happened and when it did the app and the printed daily might be different. Halfway through the cruise, I got a message from the “App Store “ to download the new NCL app. I did and found you could never look at the schedule for the next day, the communications app was gone, and still, the schedule conflicted with many event times posted on the paper schedule. Not a good design on the app as well as very poor implementation on a daily basis.

NCL Horrible Website and App
Trying to book excursions on their website from a mobile phone is the worst I have encountered……slow, things don’t open, confusing, back button takes you to a totally different page, etc, etc. Downloaded the APP hoping it would be better but it is just as bad!!! They definitely need a new IT/web design team. Looked on line for solutions and is a common issue

Garbage, usually hangs at startup
Whenever I start the app it displays a message “The page failed to load” and then hangs. Garbage.
App is broken
You cannot print docs - PDF files are empty. So, if you want to see a summary, you have to ask technical support to send you via email your documents.
Formatting inside the app is broken - a lot of text is outside the margins.
Navigation is counter intuitive. It’s as if they expect you to be familiar with all their packages and terms. Sorta hard if it’s the first time you are cruising.
I was expecting better. Tech support is friendly and is transparent about these issues.
Norwegian you can do better. This is hurting your brand.

Turn off private relay…
Update: The internet guy on the ship helped me with the app not recognizing g I was on board. If you have an iPhone and the private relay feature is turned on, turn it off! Works like a charm now.
Original: In theory, this app has most of what you’d need. Once a cruise is booked, you can see your reservation, book excursions, make dining reservations, etc. Once on board, a messaging feature appears along with itinerary, deck maps, on board account status etc. The problem is the app doesn’t always recognize when you’re on board. It will log you out and when you log back in, it’s a good 24-48 hours before it senses you’re on the ship again even if you’re connected to the ship’s WiFi. If the developers could fix this, it would be a great app. Until then, it’s just mediocre.

Really handy tool to pre book
The NCL App is a brilliant tool you can do your check in and safety muster without having to do all of this on arrival
Look at all the Dining options and the Day Trips are very informative to look at before you book
You can upgrade and book Airport transfers
Brilliant hands on Diary whilst on the Ship

Very little value
The app is not intuitive and provides very little value. NCL should do some competitive analysis with the Royal Caribbean app. Significantly better in many ways.

Version française serait appréciée- Merci !
Excursion delight’s
Wandering through the excursions page, so many to choose from, adds to the excitement of our upcoming journey with NCL in November.
The choices tickle the taste buds, but you can’t do them all. Which ones to do…. Waimea Canyon or Volcanoes National Park…?. and Luau Kalamaku or Authentic Taste of Maui…….? Haleakala zip line or Hilo Bay Kayak adventure.
Ah well! Back to the excursion list to enjoy
immersing myself in the wonders of Hawaii offered by NCL 🏄🏽♀️🛳️

Love NCL
Always a pleasure to travel with NCL.
Great service, amazing and professional staff. Very good value for the money. We will always be back.

Too clunky written by a 3 year old
So backward, you have to keep entering names addresses photos, basically a link to their website so better doing things on a laptop, clearly very old suggest they look at other cruise lines-god forbid their rival RCCL
Most features don’t work
* caveat* I am fully aware the features intended for on ship won’t work, but a user should be able to navigate to their booked trip more easily. Similar to other reviewers, finding my itinerary and cruise details (aside from the date/countdown) are difficult to find. There are scrolling banners that have (I can only assume) helpful info with titles like “Here’s how to get started …” or “Book your before or after cruise hotel… “ clicking any of the slides doesn’t take the user to anywhere .. it’s the epitome of frustration. Stop driving traffic to your app if your app doesn’t allow the user to use it 🤷♀️

Viva las cruise liner app!
Easy to use app. Detailed information includes costs and conditions. Thank you NCL
Not so happy
This is the worse cruise I have ever been on from day one my toilet have been stopped up everyday and went you call the front desk they have a attitude with you that’s poor customer service and they act like it is our fault that the toilet is getting stopped up one of the workers said that they are having problems with other toilets as well. I’ve been on many cruises, but this is the worst one that I ever been on. I don’t even know if I’m gonna take another cruise line. Maybe I will try to see if it is the same and if so, I would never do Norwegian ever again, I can’t wait to get off of this ship I was so excited about coming here to have a 10 day relax vacation but it’s just not that way they do not have any entertainment on here for you so it’s really not much for you to do Internet service is not working too well they had to cancel one of the good entertainment because of the connections on the food on the ship is OK not so happy very disappointed with this ship

Deception
Le personnel semble fatigué et moins aimable .
Frustrating and buggy experience. Worst aspect of NCL.
We had a good time on our NCL cruises, but this app is by far the worst thing about NCL!
The main issue is that it disconnects you at least once a day (while on the ship, connected to WiFi), forcing you to reenter your NCL credentials. Then, it often refuses to let you login due to a technical error until you delete the app data. This happened consistently on 4 different phones in our last 2 cruises on the Breakaway and Jade.
Here are three suggestions to make this app better, other than fixing the disconnection issues.
1. When you’re off the ship at a port, the app refuses to show you any information, not even the ship’s departure time from the port you’re visiting! This should be visible whenever not connected to the WiFi. No, the eDocs aren’t sufficient as they can be out of date.
2. There should be a WiFi Login/Logout button always accessible in the header of the app, whether you are logged in the app or not. This, I suspect, would alleviate a lot of the pain in using your WiFi package; Every time I walked by guest services, I noticed people complaining they wasted all their WiFi minutes because they couldn’t figure how to logout due to the bad UX design. Come on, this is an easy fix.
3. Note to the developers: On IOS, you need to configure the info necessary (the app URI) for password managers to work with your app. It’s VERY aggravating given the frequent disconnections.
The disconnect issues happened on iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 13 and a Galaxy S22+. I suspect this is caused by bad error handling: The app shouldn’t disconnect you when it encounters a transient connection issues due to spotty WiFi.
