Too many pop up ads & paywalls
Tapping a headline gets you a list of publications that carried the article but tapping to actually read the article typically leads to either a paywall or a barrage of pop up ads.

This app started out as good but these days when I try to read a story all I get is ad after ad after ad and I never get to read the story. I am deleting this app from my phone because it is now useless.

Too much RCL!
Is there a filter we can apply to the recent news postings? It seems RCL gave the press a free cruise on the condition they write an article about it, and this app is useless in finding real news because of it.

Can’t Read Articles If you don’t Subscribe to Newspapers
You have great stories to tell but you can not share if you don’t buy a subscription to the newspapers. Is there another way to get the stories out ?

It’s very hard to read any of the news stories on this app because you have just copied a new story from like the Wall Street Journal etc. and they all want us to become members of their electronic membership. I don’t know why you can’t share the article and give credit to the source without us having to join or the article will be great out and you cannot read it

Tapping a headline gets you a list of publications that carried the article but tapping to actually read the article too often gets you invited or forced to subscribe in order to read further.

Only three stars
Was going to give four stars until they posted the article from some “mother jones” that had to dive into had bad the potus s doing and comparing it to the cruise industry. It’s your job to report on cruise ship news not print political crap . Keep it that way please.
Under appreciated: suddenly reveals full value
For me this was one of those sleeper apps you didn’t get around to deleting but never use. When I first tried it 2-3 years ago, compared to other cruise related apps it sported a very plain interface and the concept not very exciting. Essentially a search result of current cruise news. And it needed some technical maturation and behavioral training. With limited stories it’s notifications could get annoying. I just declined that feature and let it sit. But after a few more years with memorable cruises one becomes fond of more and more ships, crews and ports. Having recently just narrowly escaped the calamity fates of other cruisers trapped “out there” my wife and I found our selves more eager for cruise news beyond the dramatic few that happened to dominate. Oh, look at this old Cruise News App, lets see if it still works... OMG!
Same old plain interface. Same unpretentious mission but wow does it ever deliver. Not a sales infomercial like some flashier commercial cruise apps. Just efficient long long lists of of sortable fresh stories relevant to cruise followers from right around the globe. What a service - especially at times like this! Next time at sea this App will be part of the personal health and safety kit. Know (more) the Truth and the Truth Shall, etc.
Though the ads of this Lite version are unobtrusive, I threw the few bucks at the developer just as a vote to help us not loose it. The initial glitches and annoyances are gone but how awesome if an owner keeps it alive through future iOS generations and takes it to its full potential even further.

Make some Updates Already!
For cruise enthusiasts this is a nice app, but it needs an update. One major update....put the news in order by date. Currently all the dates are mixed up and you have to scroll through to find current news.

Can’t remember when I read a positive story on this app. All about people “falling” overboard, mechanical problems or poor treatment of crew.
Keeping in touch!
Cruise News keeps me posted on what’s happening on the high seas. It’s important to me as I haven’t yet discovered how to enjoy sailing on two different vessels simultaneously! Until that time, Cruise News is always a resource to help keep me in the loop.

I love getting the info about what's going on before it hits the news. Good app.
Notifications need work
I get between 6-10 notifications a day, and they are typically about the same news stories over and over again (often ones I've already read in the app)
Pretty frustrating to have the app constantly telling me to read the same article multiple times, especially when it's old news - I select the notification thinking it's breaking news but then find the story half way down the list of articles, released several days ago, and already notified about twice before.
Also, the picture resolution is very low until you follow the links to the original story.
