A Genuine Gift For Anyone Studying Stoicism
Five stars, no question.
I have tried a number of apps for philosophy and meditation. Stoa stands apart. The guided meditations are grounded in real Stoic texts, not generic wellness talk. The learning paths move from the basics of Stoicism into deeper ground, like the dichotomy of control and premeditatio malorum, at a pace that respects your time and intelligence.
The app is clean and easy to move through. Nothing gets in the way of the practice itself.
What sets Stoa apart most is the team behind it. They built something rooted in real Stoic principles, and they clearly want it to reach people who need it, not just people who can pay for it. If cost is a barrier, they will give you a free account. No hoops, no shame attached. That kind of generosity is rare, and it lines up with the philosophy the app teaches. Kindness and personal accountability, put into actual practice.
If you are serious about Stoicism, or just looking for a steady place to start, Stoa is worth your time.

Excellent practice
The app just gets better. The current version is a wealth of resources. I especially appreciate the daily practice, which includes a short reading, a meditation, and accountability. It’s helped me integrate Stoic practice into my everyday life.
No automatic system theme in 2026?
There’s no excuse for that. How you gonna charge a subscription for a premium app and there’s no automatic system theme to change from light to dark mode when literally almost every other app on my phone has it. No thanks.
Gratitude
Stoa has been a very useful resource in developing a new approach to spiritual education and living. Since I have left the faith of my parents I was very often confused and frustrated with my spiritual practices. Stoa has been invaluable in helping me see life with a new and joyful spirit.
I use this app daily
I don’t know if I would have had the structure or discipline to learn deeply about stoicism or how to meditate without this app as an excellent tool. Definitely a very much preferred indifferent for my life right now.
