What's New in DailyCal
1.4.0
October 26, 2026
DailyCal 1.4.0 brings a clearer Day Plan, more helpful planning tools and improvements throughout the app. - A redesigned Day Plan brings Now, the rest of today and tomorrow into one connected overview, with consistent cards, clearer actions and simpler navigation. - Get guidance on your next step, including appointments, planned tasks, departure times, deadlines, protected time and breaks. - Use “I’m running late” to review a recovery plan. Keep important appointments fixed, consider moving tasks and confirm changes before saving. - Undo the latest group of saved task rescheduling changes while the recovery plan remains open. - Prepare tomorrow with progress tracking. Mark items as reviewed without completing tasks or changing appointments, and continue where you left off. - Task suggestions explain why a time fits, taking account of duration, deadlines, available space, known travel time and remaining break time. - Planning checks are easier to reach from Day Plan, including conflicts in the next seven days and calendars included in planning but hidden from view. - Calendar sets can now have their own planning sources, independently of which calendars and task lists are visible. - A new Now marker in the list shows progress through a current appointment or planned task, remaining time, the next time block and overlapping items. - The task editor follows a clearer order: task, deadline, estimated duration, priority and list. - Travel planning has a compact destination and return-address summary, with calculation and refresh details available separately. Failed updates retain the last successful estimate for the same route and warn when it may be outdated. - Appointment weather is clearer across lists, timelines and details. Day headings and appointments use the available forecast dates, without the previous seven-day cut-off for MET Norway. - Search shows matching local results immediately, includes undated tasks and keeps results visible during refreshes. - A calmer startup shows appointments without waiting for tasks or weather. Existing content remains visible during refreshes, with better timeout handling and recovery. - Returning from the background no longer adds a row of recovery buttons above your calendar. - Appointment alerts are scheduled before task, location and travel requests, so delays or failures in those requests do not block ordinary alert scheduling. - Review what a settings backup contains before restoring it. Afterwards, check a report of recovered, missing or ambiguous links and repeat the check as calendars finish synchronising. - Preparation lists, linked reminders and related appointments better retain their connections when calendar identifiers change. Removing one connection preserves the others. - Expired one-off planning exceptions are cleaned up automatically. Permissions for a whole series remain in place. - Birthday and anniversary celebrations have compact badges, lighter animations and clearer sound-limit explanations. Refreshing does not repeat the sound. - “Time blocks” is now used consistently throughout the app. Their popover can open above the button when space below is limited. - Refreshed onboarding, new planning hints, improved large-text layouts and clearer contrast in selected calendar dates and planning messages. - Updated translations and release history, improved compatibility with older settings backups, and more complete clearing of stored travel locations when resetting the app.
