Neat idea but full of bugs

You cant create an sms account. The popup will say slice but the ball will go left or hook and it spins right. Even if there isn’t wind. The app stutters after every shot. The menus are janky. The presser part feels unintuitive. It’s neat but I won’t be playing this again.

Game Is A Blast, BUT…

At its core, the game is a ton of fun and super addicting. Has potential to be one of the best mobile games available.

That said, this game is RIDDLED with bugs in a way that I’ve never see for a mobile game (almost feels like it was released before it was ready). And sadly the bugs have yet to be fixed with the many “bug fix” updates that have been pushed, and most updates actually seem to break the game more than it already was.

For example, the longest running bug in the game right now is the broken scorecard. While the game tracks your actual score correctly, it will never reflect correctly on the scorecard.

On top of that, sometimes the game loses track of which round you’re on during a tournament or resets you entirely. For instance, I’ve played multiple tournaments where I had to play for 6 or 7 rounds just to finish because the game would keep resetting me (and you get penalized for forfeiting).

The most recent game breaking bug comes with the club yardage ranges. Since the beginning of the game, each club has had set yardage ranges so that you know roughly how far you’ll hit with a certain amount of power (for instance, your Hybrid could hit anywhere from 155-194 yards). One of the most recent updates changed all of these yardage amounts for every club, but worse than that the scaling isn’t even accurate (so for instance, a shot that you know without a shadow of a doubt should be traveling roughly 175 yards now comes nowhere close).

Again, love the concept of this game, but grow increasingly more frustrated with the amount of bugs that flood it and ruin the player experience.

Fun game, needs tweaking.

If the goal was to make this game as fun and frustrating as real golf, it succeeded. For one, it’s really hard to understand anything in this game. The loading screen “hints” are more like riddles.

Secondly, you rarely get opportunities to answer questions and no answer you give results in positive results. Either lose fans or “brain power”. Feels impossible to improve or make in-game currency.

I would also add that it’s ridiculous that there are some holes, like the reverse C par five that you literally cannot see the fairway at all.

It would also be fun if there was a free play mode. It’s odd that a game restricts how much you can play.

Great Concept, Needs Work

The game approaches golf games in a much more grounded way. I’m excited to see where it goes. But the game in its current state is very clearly an early work in progress and has some very frustrating quirks. The developer(s?) are responsive and quick to address issues as they are reported.

I have high hopes that this will turn into a mobile game that I will happily play often.

Has Potential

Fun game overall but ran into a bunch of issues. Mainly in the paid TOUR mode. The tournaments are 4 rounds but you play each round twice at 36 holes. So to complete all 4 “rounds” you have to play 144 holes and at the end of the last hole it wouldn’t and still won’t let me “return to menu”. So I can’t actually complete the tournament. I retried playing the last hole multiple times and it was always the same. Also the last hole was different each time. It was always a par 5 but varied in design.

On occasion it would freeze and not allow me to take my shot. The only fix was closing out of the app and restarting it.

You don’t have access to all clubs at all times. I assume it has to do with the lie but there were many times my 3w and 5w were completely missing. They were only selectable on occasion.

The press conference function is cool but also skewed in favor of a negative result. Far too many pressers resulting from negative shots. For example I went 6 under on the first nine with no bogeys but the first hazard I hit on the second nine resulted in a “negative” presser.

Could do away with the automatic instant replays after each shot or make it a selectable option.

The trees can get annoying but the more I played the more I realized they were a challenge and adjusted to hit over them and not just bounce off of them.

Overall, I like the game and it has potential to be a game I play A LOT but these were just the things i found after paying the $4.99 for the tour mode.

Response from developer

Hi CaptainBogey, Sorry you ran into all of those issues, and we've heard about most of those from other users too. If you download the latest update you should see they're all fixed, except for you not being able to use the 3w & 5w which is by design (You can only hit these clubs on fairway/tee). Hope this helps!
