Excellent suivi du surf, le meilleur depuis Trace GPS
Ancien utilisateur de « Trace GPS », qui reste à ce jour le système le plus abouti que j’aie connu (angles de rotation, hauteur des aerials, etc.), je n’avais encore rien retrouvé d’aussi complet depuis l’arrêt de ce service… jusqu’à Dawn Patrol.
L’application offre un excellent suivi des sessions de surf et se rapproche clairement de ce qui se faisait de mieux auparavant. Elle est aujourd’hui, selon moi, la meilleure alternative disponible.
Concernant les bugs mentionnés dans certains avis — notamment les sessions qui ne remontent pas sur le téléphone — il existe des solutions simples :
• Il suffit d’être à proximité de l’iPhone au moment d’arrêter la session sur l’Apple Watch.
• Sinon, directement depuis l’Apple Watch, ouvrir l’application Dawn Patrol, cliquer en haut à gauche pour accéder aux préférences, puis aller dans Suivi de surf. En faisant défiler tout en bas, on retrouve les sessions manquantes, qu’il est possible de renvoyer manuellement vers le téléphone.
Une application très sérieuse, pensée par et pour les surfeurs. Je recommande sans hésiter.

Needs a lot of work before they ask for this kind of money.
I had my fingers crossed I tried using the free version and nothing worked, so I got the subscription and I can barely get this app to work with the paid subscription on. I’ve had it work how it should once. Other times it stops before I start surfing, or it closes after one wave, or it records the first wave and then it freezes. Some of my sessions don’t upload to the app. I have to make sure I start the app on my phone, along side starting it on my watch to have any chance of it recording anything. The app needs a lot of work before they are asking this kind of money to use it. I really want this app to work, and will keep an eye on it and hopefully one day they will improve it.

Won’t Reliably Sync With Garmin
The Dawn Patrol app seems to have significant issues syncing with Garmin. My Garmin Forerunner 970 successfully records the activity, and Garmin Connect receives it, but Dawn Patrol often takes a long time to import the session or fails to sync it at all.
Unfortunately, the Forerunner 970 does not have Garmin’s native Surf activity, so I purchased a full year Dawn Patrol subscription specifically to record my surf sessions. Based on my experience, I would recommend getting a Garmin watch with the native Surf activity rather than relying on Dawn Patrol for Garmin integration.
I paid for the full year subscription but have been disappointed with the reliability of the app. I’m now considering buying a Garmin Epix so I can record my surf sessions natively and no longer need to rely on Dawn Patrol.
Unfortunately, the Forerunner 970 does not have Garmin’s native Surf activity, so I purchased a full year Dawn Patrol subscription specifically to record my surf sessions. App Stability Still Wonky
Still regularly crashes especially when naming new spots or adding things like ratings for the session, type of board used etc. There are also typos in the app like the word Threshold is spelled “tresold” in the HR section. Hopefully the Surfline acquisition will help stability and Accuracy.
Doesn’t work
Scam app isn’t accurate. Surfline charges over $100 and doesn’t include this? Wtf. I’m not paying another $15 on top of that.
Crashes watch
Keeps crashing my watch when I use the wheel to end a session. Other than that it tracks sessions quite well.
Great Session Tracking
Use it to track my sessions. Trying to progress my surfing and this helps. I think. It's cool to review your waves and your misses.
A must app for every surfer!
Great surfing app, integrates perfectly with Garmin to record and Surfline to get the videos of my sessions. Good job guys! A+ / 5 stars!

Great for Progress
I’ve been tracking rides for several years and it’s been easy to track progress and use the videos from Surfline to improve. Improving ride lengths and speeds alone is useful when trying different boards or tracking progress at frequented spots.
Sync is a mess
Constantly loses the board / session settings. After each session it blows away the last weeks worth of changes. Still can’t get such a basic thing right after all these years.
Loses data
Lost a couple of my sessions. When you try and press fields to access data it glitches and goes back to like you never pressed anything.So irritating. Fix and update.
Way Off
This app says I caught 10 times more waves than I did and that I served hours longer than I did.
Fun app
I like it! Question for the dev, any ways to merge two sessions or more into one? Sometimes I need to check something so I remove the Water Lock, but because it’s all wet it happens many times where it either pauses or stops the session. Pause is okay but when it stops, I have to restart a new session… but I want it to be the same session, not 2 différents sessions.

06/09/26 new request for devs: an incredible update would be to be able to switch between sessions when reading the insights. right now, once you’re inside a session, you cannot easily switch to the previous day (maybe an arrow or simply allow with finger swipe, could be great!)

Love it!
I love the app, been subscribed for a couple years now and enjoy all the tracking features. I also love the badges for accomplishments!
The only issue I have is with adding photos - it force closes app occasionally and I have to fiddle around a lot to get the photo I want to be the first one. There doesn’t seem to be a way to rearrange the three photos so the one I want is the first. For instance I always upload a photo of a wave from session which I want to be first photo, followed by screenshots of the surfline conditions. But almost every time, one of the screenshots is first photo and I have to delete and re-add a few times until the wave photo shows first.
One feature I would love to see is a playable timeline of location like Surf Watch does.

Love it, but last update has issues

I have missing sessions and even though I pay $28 yearly my “premium” status isn’t unlocked for some reason.
ウォッチの画面が戻らない。
Apple Watch Series 7を使用しています。 ライドした時、距離が表示された画面が出てから、 ライド数が表示されているメイン画面に戻るのが普通だと思っているのですが、 ライド距離が表示されている画面がそのままになり、メインの画面に戻らなくなります。 波の合計獲得本数がわからない状態に成るので不便です。 修正お願いします。 課金してます。 よろしくお願いします。
