I really like this and I also like how you can write a entry from the day before and it won’t loose your streak if you missed that day Beacause Yk what if I wrote in a diffrent platform or I forgot to write and If I loose my streak then I would just stop writing but the problem I have is that you can’t add photos and sometimes the stuff I say is so unbelievable but I have proof but I can’t add it but everything else in my opinion is great!

For those with ADHD

If you have a house full of things you can't get rid of... and you have ADHD... it is connected. This app helps you store a picture and a story of the item and then you can declutter. Because... what good is that item sitting in a box!

Accessible with VoiceOver, easy and fun to use

Day One is very accessible for those using Apple’s built-in screen reader, VoiceOver. Journaling is an enjoyable hobby I try to do daily. I like I can have different journals for different things. Keep up the amazing work Day One developers. Thank you for making a lovely accessible app.

Love it but wish it was free to add extra pictures and videos

I’ve had this app for sooo long, it got me into consistent journaling and processing my emotions which helps me regulate myself and learn to be a better version of myself. Wish I could add videos and more than one picture per entry without paying for premium. It’s great for coming back to special memories and days. Sometimes when I forget the date of something I’ll check day one and it’ll be there for me to check, from the date, time and location which I love. Love love love. Would recommend 💖

A consultants Dream

I kept a diary/journal for over 40 years. It was originally paper booklets called Daytimer and then various small spiral bound booklets

Over three years ago, I started using using Day One. It is extremely flexible I can dictate to it. I can write in it. I can send an email from my phone or someone else’s phone and it goes in there. I can put photographs if I need to and search facility is fantastic.

As a business consultant and and mentor it has helped me countless times where I needed reminders or where I had who were remembering facts timelines, and even who was involved in a wrong or messed up order in their mind.

When I go back and show them my written notes, they almost always have to back away from the attitude they were adopting.

AI in a journaling app?

I noticed the little star thing that indicates an AI feature. AI. In a journaling app. It’s like, tell me you don’t fundamentally understand the point of journaling without telling me.

App Issues

My App is completely down and I restarted and it’s worse I don’t know what to do

A Magic Time Machine

I have been using this journal for 10 years. I have recorded the good, the bad and the ugly. It has been my therapist at times.
Sometimes I vent to it. Share random thoughts and random photos.
Everyday there is an option for “on this day”. That’s incredibly important. To know what was happening on any given day. My husband likes me to read it to him like the news. To look back on bad times I didn’t think I would make it through is incredibly rewarding. I’m glad I took lots of photos that were random at the time, but end up being invaluable glimpses into the past.
A cup of coffee in front of a newspaper in the break room of a workplace that no longer exists is a magic Time Machine.

No good for Apple Pencil Inpur

No recommended if you want to use Apple Pencil. AI chat is a useless gimmick. App asks for feedback and ratings even if it has been turned off in App settings.

Typical Greed

As usual, greed from developers ALWAYS ruins a good thing. I’m exporting all my diaries and deleting the app.

Great program

I love this diary. It is so easy to journal and can add add various medias during the day. I like how it syncs over all my devices. I have used it for years and it just keeps getting better and better.

Wish subscription wasn’t so high.

I enjoy using dayone and it offers more options than most. However for the really good stuff you have to subscribe and the subscription is pricey. For some $50/$75 may not be much but for most in this climate it doesn’t feel right spending that much for the subscription when I should spend it at the grocery store.

Insane

I love this so much

The Best.

The best journal app I’ve ever used and yes, I’ve tried them all. It’s also a beautiful interface/platform. The design is wonderful. I will always happily pay for the annual subscription.

Simple is the best

Very good interface, focus on writing.

Love this App

I love this app! Because I am able to open it anytime. Write my thoughts in or if I am not thinking of anything to stuck in my head. The prompt feature is great. Along with the ability to add pictures also is great. And most of all be able to held accountable by the streaks you create.

Easy

Easy to use snd simple

This One I Like!

I’ve been using Day One for a few weeks now and it seems so much easier than trying to write on paper, which I used to love! I like the ability to pop a photo onto today’s date on my calendar. And I just noticed a nice feature that will show me what happened on this day in past years once those dates come around again. So yes, this journal I like and if I can keep using it regularly I may upgrade if it seems worthwhile.

User since 2021

I love this app. It feels secure with the password. It’s got all the features I’d ever need. It’s essentially replaced the Notes app on my phone. The search feature is great. I’m neurodivergent and this app has been a great tool for me to just brain dump in an organized fashion. I would love more customization for the journal covers and more colors, it’d be cool to be able to use a photo, but really that’s the only ask.
