Screen size
The first thing one notices is the fixed size the app opens as, irrespective of screen real estate available. This is just lazy coding and a deal breaker for me. Would prefer to read on browser.
Issue with app
Opening articles is a problem. It keeps buffering, and doesn’t open sometimes. There is no way to navigate back when this happens. Please look into it.
Ad nuisance cannot be be done away with a subscription
Annoying Ads lead to a bad reading experience. User has no option for subscribing to avail premium features like other news applications
Pictures of New Articles Not Available
The app used to be resourceful with their neutral based content. I don’t have complaints about the content but the app seems to have no images of articles. Just text links, which seems weird. Hoping they fix it soon.
New update made the app bad
The app used to be very snappy and would load very easily. Now, the loaders doesn’t disappear. Even though I can see the news has loaded, there is the loader overlay which keeps going on for almost a minute. Its frustrating.
My favorite news app
What I like:
1. Simple and intuitive interface - it just works and in my mind, that’s the sign of a well designed app
2. Very few (non-intrusive) ads
3. Free
The only minor bug is that the page reverts to the top of the user inadvertently scrolls slightly (even a few pixels) to the left or to the right. Not a big deal, but can be somewhat interruptive.
Overall, 5 stars and better than many apps (including those that charge a subscription) made by much larger media companies.

Amazing
Love the app, really makes it easy to read all the news topics of my choice and the experience is amazing!
UI improvements needed!
I’ve been loving the app for 1. Its from namma state & 2. Content. However, the below would make it the ‘only’ app we all need:
1. Add more stories like 10-15 rather than limiting it to 5 to the swipes experience.
2. Add an additional gesture to swipe left to go back to the home page.
This is for both DH as well as Prajavani apps.
Hoping to see these in the near future!! Good luck!

Search function isn’t reliable
The DH app’s search function is unreliable. It often fails to retrieve relevant articles or displays outdated results. It’s a hassle to find specific information.
My Go-To app!!
The Deccan Herald app is my go-to news app. It offers a diverse range of news categories, from politics to sports, and delivers them in a user-friendly format. Love it!"
Page won’t load
Many a times page won’t load or returns blank page. Also, age old news continue to appear eternally! Pathetic.

Nice interface, but some parts are not updated
The overall read experience is good, but I see the articles in Sunday Herald is not updated.
For example, the weekly horoscope in Sunday Herald always shows Feb 9-15. Please update this as well.

Old News and new on same page
First of all the app is easy to use and the news coverage is decent enough, The only annoying thing is the app has old stories few days of even a month on the same page as the new news feed, So I first look at date then read the articles which is a bummer, The rest is top as DH standards.
Poor content refresh
Many of news items are dated and stays for more than a week. Half the time one does not know whether one is reading latest news or previous weeks news. This is suppose to newspaper app and Weekly magazine app.
Much awaited aesthetically beautiful IOS app
Deccan Herald for most native residents of Karnataka is an emotion. The day does not start for most of us without reading DH. The legacy has continued for last 2 generations in our house. Still remember as a kid i used to start from sports page and then front page 😃.
The app has very nice UI with ease of navigation. Kudos to the team!!

Great interface and features
The app has a simplistic interface and yet is loaded with features making it easy to use while browsing.
The “What’s brewing” makes quick work of staying up to date with my morning coffee while the “text-to-speech” feature on the individual article page allows me to listen to the news while doing the house chores.

The App works flawlessly on first use on iOS devices. I found the app help well implemented. Navigation is simple and links work for all media, can’t complain about the font either.
Being associated with the publisher for decades through patronage, I couldn’t be happier. Loved the daily video news, you need to bubble it up to the top of the app and auto-play without sound, it will benefit users a lot.
