$80 for “premium”?!?
What is it with mobile devs not understanding the difference between the value of their product and then thinking they can charge anywhere from $100-$1000 for 1 feature-set. The pricing model of this app matches someone going through a manic phase of mental instability, because literally no one sane or even half-intelligent would ever even consider that as a real option for a mobile game. So honestly ditching this app is a minimal loss, if any at all. So it must be evidence that this developer thinks that its users are a bunch of morons. I’m not going to fund the API cost of a dev using Claude code when it is so obvious that everything put into this game is just AI slop.
So if you like being scammed or ripped off… Definitely go for this game, if you’re even half-sane? Don’t even bother, what this developer delivers is absolute trash for the price they’re asking.
Response from developer
Hi Michael, thanks for taking the time to write. I want to clear up the main point, because it’s important: Deep Life Simulator is completely free, and the entire game can be played and finished start to finish without spending a cent. There is no paywall and no feature gate. The optional bundles are exactly that, optional, and nothing in them is required to play, progress, or enjoy the game. Nobody has to pay $80 for anything. That said, your feedback on the higher price tier is fair, and I’m reviewing the IAP pricing to make sure it feels reasonable rather than off-putting. I build this as a solo developer, I read every review, and the recent 1.3.1 update was entirely bug fixes that players asked for. If you ever give it another look, the core experience costs nothing. Either way, I appreciate the honesty.
Unfortunately awful
Unfortunate L for the life sim community
Response from developer
Hey, this should be fixed now in the latest big updates. We have focused on our other projects unfortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience, but everything should work fine now
Great concept far too many bugs
Response from developer
Hey thanks for the feedback, we have done 2 huge updates since version 1.2.8. We would be pleased to hear what you think about the new version of the game! New 1.3.1 version.
Great but still has bugs
Good Potential
Response from developer
Hey Murakami, thanks for the review, and for seeing the potential! You’re right on both: the Dark Web menu is fixed, and we’ve rebalanced the health system so you get sick far less often, serious illnesses are rarer when you’re young, and treatment is more affordable. It’s all live in the new 1.3.1 update give it a try and let us know what you think. Thanks for playing!
Greatest Game Ever
Great potential but buggy
There’s a few bugs I found- the main one that caused me to write a review is where the game breaks when you try to advance weeks. It has happened to me multiple times, and unfortunately makes the game unplayable- you spend all this time setting up your character and looking it forward to turning 25 for the housing and office features but you’re never able to reach it bc the game breaks and does not let you move forward - this is extremely frustrating. Other bugs are not as annoying, and would not cause me to stop playing this game that has a lot of potential, but until this one is fixed I cannot keep playing, and I’m sure will frustrate other players as well
Response from developer
Hey, thank you for the detailed review and for seeing the potential in the game. The bug you’re describing, where the game breaks when you try to advance weeks, is exactly the one we focused on, and it’s fixed in version 1.3.1. The reason you’re stuck on 1.2.2 is likely just the App Store still rolling the update out to your region. If you open the App Store, search for Deep Life Simulator, and pull down to refresh, an Update button should appear (you can also try toggling offload/reinstall once 1.3.1 shows up). Once you’re on 1.3.1 you should be able to push past 25 and reach the housing and office features. Thanks for your patience, and please reach out on our Discord (link in the app) if anything still blocks you.
Some updates and errors from last version and some errors from new version
Buggy
Response from developer
Hey GuessingAndy, that’s tough to read but it’s fair, and we appreciate you being blunt. Two of your points are already addressed in update 1.3.1: the crashes and freezes during weekly progress have been fixed, and disease frequency is now capped so you won’t get hit with multiple incurable illnesses in a row. The balance side, food costs, energy limits, and fitness not feeling worth it, is exactly what we’re tuning next, because an unfair economy isn’t fun no matter how stable the game is. You’ve clearly played a lot of these, so if you’re open to it, we’d genuinely value your feedback on Discord (link in the app). Thanks for giving it a real shot.
Bugs
Thank you
game unplayable from bug
Response from developer
Hey, first off, we’re really sorry you lost your saves trying to fix this. That’s a horrible experience and exactly what we don’t want for someone who loves the game. The glitch that wouldn’t let you play, and the report-bug button that was also broken, are both fixed in update 1.3.1. Please don’t reset the app again, just update to 1.3.1 and it should work properly. If anything still blocks you, message us on Discord (link in the app) and we’ll help directly. Thank you for your patience, and for loving the game despite all this.
Potential but buggy
stuck in crashing and refreshing
Response from developer
Hey, thank you for the report. That “unexpected error” when aging up, the one that wouldn’t let you move forward, is exactly the kind of weekly-progress crash we hardened in update 1.3.1, so you should be able to push past it now and keep building toward that first million. Give 1.3.1 a try, and if it ever blocks you again, reach out on our Discord (link in the app) so we can dig in. Thanks for your patience.
