Amazing app! Tho a small suggestion
Truly my most favorite journal app. Though I do wish that whatever video I add to it, actually plays even if i delete them from my phone gallery.
And please keep the lock option for not premium ones too

Thanks so much for the kind words! For videos, you can turn off image optimization in Diarly > Settings > Other Options so files are copied into the app, though this will use more storage. We’ll also consider your feedback about the lock option.

The importing sucks and when I tried to import what I had on my MacBook it didn’t work the app have bugs if I could give it zero stars I would

Interface is a mess
The interface has become an unfathomable, illogical, confusing mess.
Helpful and amazing!
A great app really helps me to focus on what I'm trying to say. I'm able to write and do more things in it than I ever thought possible, and I have had the longest habit of using this app for actually doing journaling. I'm so excited to keep going!
Does a great job
Simply does a great job. I switched from another journal app that just got more and more bloated. This one has all the features you need and at a good price. Yes it’s subscription but it is an app that syncs and I use just about every day.
Excellent Journaling App
With Day One’s massive price hike, I voted with my feet. I am so pleased to find Diarly. I love the clean simplicity of the app, the writing experience is beautiful. One of my favourite note taking app is Bear, this has a similar look and feel.
The import from Day One is seamless, it does take a bit of time for the first sync, but after that it is very smooth indeed.
I am using this on my iPad, iPhone and Mac and I am really loving it.

Love it, it is the best!
Update on June 6, 2026: I have been using this app since 2020 and if I could give more than 5 stars I would surely do that, because this is by far THE BEST diary!!! In all these 6 years it has crashed just one time and they fixed it right away.
I really love this app, it synchronizes on all my devices. I can find my notes very easily. And it never crashes. Keep up the good work!!!
Update: after using this app for over 4 years, it is still The BEST!!!!!

Interface has become a mess
Inelegant interface is now just a disordered heap of stuff. Can hardly see tiny interface font.

Wonderfull. My favorite way to end the day is to dump everything into an entry. I’ve been using the free version and getting along just fine

I like it a lot
So far so good. I recommend giving it a try. The only thing I would asked to be updated is the UI for fonts and grammatical things - a little hard to navigate on the computer side of things.
Better than the rest!
Really loving this journal. After trying all the other options and having Day One since it’s start, but now that feels outdated and limited, being super disappointed with Apple Journal (they didn’t succeed in Sherlocking Day One after all!) and it’s multiple bugs, and limits.
This lovely application has made me excited to journal again. The handwriting integration is great and the back dice inclusion of markdown allows for almost any type of insert.
I’m grateful they’re a presence on Reddit and they actually listen too! Brilliants, worth every penny.

Periodic usage
I hope this is not one of those apps that offers a good service briefly and then turns everything into a paid membership, where every add-on comes with an extra cost.
My favourite app
Been using this app every day for the past four years. It’s the most consistent I’ve been with journaling ever, thanks to its simple and easy to use design. Particularly love the “on this day” feature!

Синхронизация между устройствами, понятное дело, уже платная, но, думаю, если через пару недель не разочаруюсь, то куплю) было бы удобно

Lovely journaling app - solid for all needs
Diarly is a very lightweight and simple app to get started with that has surprising depth and customization waiting under the surface.
I very much like the ease of importing data from other apps and programs and even had some mild success importing some old entries from my college Deadjournal but turns out I was really annoying so I didn’t do the rest yet. 😂
I do wish that Diarly would add the ability to create your own custom moods - very often a lot of the moods/emotions they have to choose from doesn’t exactly fit what I’m feeling and for an app with so much customization this feature would fit right in. I think a lot of others would love it too.

Приложение отличное. Просьба добавить работу с дневником через браузер помимо ios. Я сижу на линуксе и мне очень не хватает его на пк. Как оплатить из России?
