About
Dispatch Prep is a complete study aid for the two Transport Canada generic flight dispatcher
written examinations — FDOPS and FDMET — built question by question against the syllabus in the
Study and Reference Guide for Flight Dispatchers.
TWO PAPERS, TRACKED SEPARATELY
• FDOPS — 80 questions, 3½ hours, 70% to pass. Air law and ATS procedures, airframes, engines and
systems, instruments, navigation and flight planning, radio aids, flight operations, theory of
flight and human factors.
• FDMET — 100 questions, 3½ hours, 70% to pass. The atmosphere, moisture and stability, air masses
and fronts, icing, thunderstorms, and the Canadian weather products a dispatcher works from.
Each paper carries its own readiness figure, question history and exam record, so you always know
which one you are ready for.
OVER 950 ORIGINAL QUESTIONS
86 topics across all nine subject areas. Every question was written for this app and checked
against the current Canadian Aviation Regulations and the TC AIM — not against a study guide that
has not been reprinted since 2002. Every answer carries an explanation that teaches the point and
a reference you can look up.
GENERATED DOCUMENTS, NOT ONE STALE EXAMPLE
• Computer flight plan — a fresh sheet every session, with the WPT, MTR, TAS, G/S, DR, ZD, DREM,
ZT, ZF and FREM columns and the POA / ALT / HLD / RES fuel block. Decode it, revise an estimate,
work out the holding available on arrival.
• Load and trim sheet — structural limits, zone weights and arms, zero fuel and take-off weights,
per cent MAC and the weight-shift problem.
• Weather folder — a coherent METAR, TAF and upper wind set for a destination and its alternate,
with the published alternate minima, and the question the desk actually has to answer: can this
aerodrome be filed?
The numbers change every time, so there is nothing to memorise.
EXAM-FAITHFUL MOCK PAPERS
Blueprint-weighted sampling, the real 3½-hour countdown, flagging and a question palette, and no
feedback until you submit — exactly like exam day. Then scoring by section and a full review of
every question with its explanation.
SMART REVIEW
Every answer is tracked. Missed questions come back on a spaced schedule until they stick, and the
dashboard shows readiness by paper, by section and by topic.
WORKED CALCULATIONS
ISA deviation, pressure and density altitude, true altitude, cold temperature correction, freezing
level, convective cloud base, minimum IFR fuel, airline fuel, equal time point, point of no return,
crosswind, convergency, departure, payload, climb gradient, descent planning and more — generated
with fresh values and a full worked solution every time.
LIBRARY
A must-know card for every topic: the numbers, thresholds and definitions worth memorising, each
with its source reference.
Universal app for iPhone and iPad. Automatic dark mode with a manual override. Works entirely
offline — there is no network code in the app at all. No account, no ads, no analytics, no data
collected.

Dispatch Prep now runs on iOS 26, so it installs on iPhones and iPads that have not moved to iOS 27 yet. Nothing else has changed: the same 950+ original FDOPS and FDMET questions, the computer flight plan, load and trim sheet and weather folder generated fresh every session, and the timed mock papers. Saved progress carries over.
