The ground portion happens before you ever walk out to the aeroplane, and a single item marked 1 ends the flight test on the spot — ground items don't qualify for a partial re-test. This app is for the weeks leading up to that table.
HOW IT WORKS
You're asked a question. You answer it out loud, the way you will on the day. Then you reveal what the examiner is listening for, and you mark yourself honestly on the same four-point scale you'll be graded on: 4 thorough, 3 adequate, 2 gaps, 1 couldn't.
Anything you mark 1 or 2 comes back first next time, and a spacing schedule brings the rest round again before you forget them.
WHAT'S COVERED
281 questions across the four ground items of the flight test:
• 2A — documents and airworthiness
• 2B — aeroplane performance
• 2C — weight and balance
• 23A — pre-flight planning
Plus aircraft systems, the walkaround, human factors and flight management.
Aircraft figures — speeds, weights and limits — are substituted into every question for the aeroplane you actually fly — Cessna 152, 172R, 172S and 172P, Piper Warrior II/III, Diamond DA20-C1 and DA40 presets, every figure checked against the handbook, or your own aeroplane's numbers — so the numbers you rehearse are the numbers you'll be asked.
Every regulation the app cites was checked against the Canadian Aviation Regulations as consolidated in July 2026 and the TC AIM 2026-1, so the section numbers you're given are the ones you'll find.
ON IPHONE AND IPAD
One app, one set of progress. On iPad the drill, progress, readiness and reference tabs open out into two columns, and questions and reports keep a comfortable reading width in any orientation. Light and dark, automatic or pinned.
ALSO INSIDE
• A session report you can hand to your instructor, with item-by-item marks and exactly what to take back
• Progress tracked subject by subject against the licence you're working toward
• Vref and medical validity calculators
• A briefing and kit checklist for the day itself
• Questions read aloud, so you can practise with your eyes on the handbook
• Works entirely offline — no account, no internet, nothing collected
WRITTEN BY AN INSTRUCTOR
Written, designed and built by P. Rodrigues, Class 3 Flight Instructor, from the published flight test guides, the Canadian Aviation Regulations, the Pilot's Operating Handbooks, and ground portions as they are actually run.
Independent work. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a publication of Transport Canada, and not connected to any flight training unit.
A study aid, not a Transport Canada publication. Regulations and handbook data change — verify anything you'll be marked on against the current CARs and your own aircraft's handbook.
