From inconsistent to locked in.

I’ve trained on and off for years, but I’ve never been able to stay consistent — until I started using Dr Muscle. This app genuinely removes all the guesswork. It tells you exactly what to do, how much to lift, when to progress, and how to adjust, so all I have to do is show up and put the work in.

Since using it, I’ve been more consistent than ever. My strength is climbing, my physique is changing, and for the first time I feel like I’m following a proper, structured program instead of random workouts. The app adapts to you in real time, which makes it feel like having a coach in your pocket.

If you struggle with sticking to training or want a system that keeps you progressing without overthinking, Dr Muscle is the best tool I’ve found. It’s made training simple, automatic, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is a fantastic full-feature training app.

I’ve been using it for three months and have 30 years of gym experience.  So I’m always a bit sceptical about how apps structure sessions, the number of sets and reps, drop sets and rest-pause, and whether timings can be adjusted for a more aerobic workout.  This app passes all those tests with flying colours.

You can access it online or via a dedicated app. Both work brilliantly.  Offline mode is great if Wi-Fi is an issue. The prompts are easy to follow. Choose a session type (split, full-body etc.) from the workout options, select your training days, and start. It might take a while. The AI needs to learn your workout style, reps, weight and exercises. Then it’ll gradually challenge you session by session.  It’ll get harder over time, but be patient. Like training itself, there are no instant fixes.

If you have a question, the support is excellent. Victoria is usually the person I speak to and she’s great coming back with a full explanation. Equally, the team are very attentive in asking your experiences so far and there’s an active Facebook page dedicated to explaining and getting feedback on new features.

Overall, it’s well worth the money if you fully engage with the app.

You can access it online or via a dedicated app. Both work brilliantly. Offline mode is great if Wi-Fi is an issue, though the app needs data because the AI works best with all the information you provide. The prompts are easy to follow. Choose a session type (split, full-body etc.) from the workout options, select your training days, and then the training type (drop-sets, straight, rest-pause) and then start. The AI needs to learn your workout style, reps, weight and exercises. Then it’ll gradually challenge you session by session. It’ll get harder over time, but be patient. Great algorithm, comically bad app

I’ve tried a number of workout apps and have seen all of the foibles, “AI” trainers that give you completely nonsensical workout according to even the most rudimentary understanding of what works to build muscle. I’ve seen apps that are overly simplistic and don’t do much more than a spreadsheet or ones that try to be so fancy that it feels like every workout is a science project. Dr. Muscle, as an algorithm actually seems to do what it claims. Workouts make sense, progression keeps ticking up, feels like the right amount of challenge. Too bad the app is brutal. It gets confused about which workout it’s on if you try to change an individual workout, it crashes periodically, sometimes I choose a workout while travelling it shows it to me but when I complete it, it doesn’t keep a record and immediately cuts to the previous workout. If I leave the app to do something for work (it comes up) for a few minutes I get kicked out of the workout and if it is a one-off workout it’s a bizarre series of button presses to get back to it. In all, more trouble than it’s worth and for a very premium price.

Can be frustrating

Could be good, but instead its wastes your time with a lot of questions that slows you down. There’s no way to disable them. And it doesn’t seem to remember what you’ve done consistently. The chat function has extremely limited capability.

Ai and micro nutrition

The app is great except it feels like the ai doesn’t remember what was said before that message and is either too stubborn or too vague to help you change something

Response from developer

App crashes constantly

Would love to give this app a try, but it won’t ever open. It crashes every time I try and use it.

Not working

The app just not opening. I restarted my phone, re installed the app, but still not able to open it

App stopped working

App has stopped working. Won’t load.

Response from developer

Thanks for reaching out, and please accept my apologies for that issue. The new iOS 26.1 indeed broke a few things with our app—and with several others, too. The good news is we’ve already addressed this problem with an emergency update. You can simply update the app through the App Store, and everything should be back to normal. Thanks again for your patience and for being part of Dr. Muscle. If you have any questions or want more details, please email us at support@drmuscleapp.com. We're here to help and make this upgrade as smooth as possible for you.

Great app

The best app for your workout and diet program

Worthless

App was initially great. However it then lost all of my history and data. There is ZERO customer support - just some AI bot. They didn’t offer any reasonable refund for the 2 months of bringing the weights in the app back up to speed. AVOID this app- if they had a reasonable customer service team I would re consider. But for now, trash.

UPDATE: They continued to not offer meaningful solutions but kept asking me to perform fixes which didn’t work. They refused to troubleshoot over the phone- leading to the multiple emails as they described. I’ve cancelled my subscription and would recommend finding another app with less bugs and primarily better customer support.

Best trainer I’ve ever had

I started lifting at 18 and am now 59. Training is my job, my passion and my life long love. I occasionally get bored doing my own thing and want something to push me. I recently searched “best training app” on chatGPT and Dr. muscle came up. I have tried other platforms in the past but quit within a month because they are a waste of my time. Your app changed the game! I LOVE IT!! I’m lifting more than I thought I could and love the progressive programming and feedback the app provides. It is worth every penny! Don’t stall on this - try it out!

Great training app but …

I would like to share my feedback on the Dr. Muscle app. While I have been using it for the past six months and was previously satisfied, I have encountered some issues that need to be addressed.

Firstly, every time I open the app, I have to change the unit of measurement from pounds to kilograms manually, as it does not remember my preference. My previous preferences are not saved, and I have to set them up again and again, which is quite inconvenient.

Additionally, after completing and saving a workout, the app prompts me again to save when I open it next. It feels like I am not properly logged out from the previous session, which adds unnecessary confusion.

I believe these updates are necessary to enhance the overall user experience. Thank you.

Best weightlifting app

The app is easy to use, great information to read to understand why it programs like it does, and just the best app I have used.

I had to let go of programming my own weight lifting programs, but I hadn’t ever found something good enough. But Dr Muscle is just that- it makes it so much easier to advance in progressive overloading my lifts so I make gains.

Excellent workout app

Caveat: it’s the only workout app I’ve tried. But it was the top recommendation from ChatGPT. I like how customizable it is to my workouts. I can do workout at home with weights or on the road with just body weight or in the gym with a whole compliment, workout equipment.

Not for me

Heard this was a good app, glitches before I can even open it.

OUTSTANDING APP

I have been training for almost 65 years and have not tried everything; but I’m getting close. Dr. Muscle has proved to be an outstanding tool for me. Over the decades I have invested countless hours researching, designing, modifying, and progressing my training programs. After the initial break-in and customization, Dr. Muscle and I have figured each other out and I feel like I am running on autopilot. That said, the app is extremely flexible allowing me to pivot as necessary during a given workout or across the broader program.

Two aspects of the app stand out for me. First, having filled a gazillion notebooks charting my workouts over the years, the app is ideal and easy to use for a fastidious record-keeper like me. A few clicks and everything is recorded. Looking back on any previous workouts is simple. And I especially like seeing what I did the last time for a given exercise as I am doing it (i.e., not being required to look it up).

Second, I appreciate how the app progresses me from one workout to the next. Think coach or personal trainer. Each workout appears to be designed based on my previous ones. Yet, it is completely flexible so I can do more on good days and back off on days when that is necessary. It even counts down my recovery timing between sets.

Finally, I want to add that the customer service support has been extraordinary. I feel like I have an established relationship and I am being treated as an individual by someone who knows me.

I highly recommend Dr.Muscle. It has worked extremely well for someone with my experience and I can see it as a very good tool for anyone, even a beginner.

Broken app

After a year of using this app, the app just forgot about me. All of the progress, work outs, accomplishments, PRs, weight history, all gone. It just gave a fresh account. I had paid for a full year subscription about six months ago, so now I have six months I am still paying for this broken app. I cannot get my account back. It’s just profoundly disappointing.
