User reviews

Love it but the widgets don’t update

Great app, but for me it was important that the widgets (on my lock screen and home screen) stay up to date. Here in Madrid in the summer it can be 24 degrees at 8am and 38 degrees at 4pm. Super important for the widget to update! But more often than not, it wouldn’t. I submitted a ticket but received no response. Anyway, today I deleted the widgets because they were infuriatingly out of date. But I think the concept is great, and I hope they figure out how to get the widgets to update consistently.

Response from developer

Hi Mark, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate the feedback. We’re sorry to hear you’ve run into trouble with your widgets. While the vast majority of our users have a smooth experience, we take it seriously whenever someone runs into issues, and we’d like to help make this right for you. We reached out on your support ticket to request device logs so we could look into the issue, but didn’t hear back, which is why the ticket was closed. We understand things get busy and this can slip through. Please feel free to submit a new ticket whenever you’re ready, and we’ll be glad to pick up where we left off and get everything working smoothly for you. Thank you again for your patience and for being a valued user.

Bad UI, predatory pricing

Way too expensive for a weather app, RadarScope is like $10 one time compared to $60 a year for this one

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify: Dual Degrees is free to download and use and it always will be! The core dual-unit weather display isn’t behind a paywall, there’s no ad-supported nagging either. DD+ is an optional subscription, clearly listed at $5/month, with annual billing offering 30% off for the first year with plenty of offers through the year! Both prices are shown upfront before purchase with no hidden fees or bait and switch. That’s actually the opposite of predatory pricing, which by definition involves pricing that’s unclear, hidden, or deliberately confusing, ours is stated plainly on the listing and inside the app before you ever subscribe. DD+ unlocks extras like the home layout editor, custom app icons, holographic theme backgrounds, subscriber widgets with 20 location slots, and weather radar (although with Stormaura our dangerous weather detection feature, the live radar becomes available free to anyone within range of a dangerous storm, because safety shouldn’t be behind a paywall!), none of which affect the core free experience. You can cancel anytime from your Apple ID subscription settings. We’d also welcome specifics on what felt off with the UI, that’s harder to address without detail, especially given the pattern we’ve noticed in reviews like this one usually being posted by competitors! Thanks again and have a wonderful day!

Great

I wanted a weather widget that showed the temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit simultaneously. This does exactly that, and it looks nice.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback, it is very much appreciated!

Doesn’t update unless you open on phone

See title, the watch app (complication) won’t update unless you physically pull your phone out and refresh the app.

Response from developer

Hello, Thanks for your feedback! There was a bug in the version of the app for some devices you reported this on, please feel free to retry this now and you should find this is now resolved, also, please ensure you check the system checker inside the settings to make sure all checks are green or feel free to make a ticket, and we’d be happy to assist! Thanks!

Problem with 10 day forecast maybe

Been trying to submit a bug report but keep getting error on that page for incorrect information in a field (no specifics given). Getting different results for 10 day forecast than built in weather, almost like it is a day off. Can send specifics and screen shots.

Update: was able to enter a bug report by putting Unknown in the userID field. Screen says Settings-About-UserID, except that field isn’t displayed in the app just device ID which doesn’t work.
