E-Pass Double Dipping
I’m a Florida resident, lived here for years, and have other vehicles with Sun Passes on them. I never get charged going through E Pass tolls on these vehicles. Then with a new vehicle that I added to my Sunpass account with an active transponder, I get double billed every time I go through an E-Pass toll - charged to my Sunpass account and also pay by plate. This has been an issue I’ve been dealing with for the last 7 months, with multiple calls to E-Pass customer service. I finally caved to their pressure to have me buy their E-Pass transponder, so I guess I’ll be removing my Sunpass transponder in hopes that will fix it. All in all, E-Pass is terrible.

Not as happy as I once was
I have enjoyed the ease and convenience of funding my toll account for many years. About 6 months ago I was asked for the CVV number on my card to complete the transaction. I chalked it up to a random account verification which I appreciate. However, this has continued beyond being a simple security verification. I have been asked for the CVV A on the card for every replenishment since. The whole idea for me was the simplicity of swiping the reload icon and having my account updated. I don’t always have access to the card on file. If this keeps up I might as well send checks twice a month.

Easy and efficient
When your kiddos always use “pay by plate” and the charges add up, the 50% discount to enroll in E-pass (and they’ll send you a free transponder sticker) is sweetly motivating. The app is very smooth and easy to use. No more “final pay by plate invoice” letters for us!
Terrible Company
For a company in the business of collecting tolls, E-pass is probably the worst. I tried to pay my toll at the DMV, over the phone, online, and on the app and none of them worked, preventing me from renewing my registration.
