What's New in Eat Aware

2.0.0

September 11, 2026

New: Macro Tracking • Track protein, carbs, and fat alongside calories. Enable it in Settings → Track Macros. • Choose a preset split (Balanced, Low Fat, Low Carb, High Protein) or set a Custom ratio with your own percentages. • Dashboard now shows daily macro progress bars alongside your calorie target. • Macros can be logged for barcode-scanned products (auto-filled from Open Food Facts), manually created food items, and ad-hoc entries. New: Edit & Manage Food Items • Food items in your library can now be edited after creation — fix a mistake or fill in missing calories/macros without re-adding the item. • Deleting a food item now preserves your past log entries (they're converted to standalone records) instead of leaving orphaned history. New: iCloud Sync • Your data (profile, food log, recipes, weight history) now syncs across devices via iCloud/CloudKit, backed by an App Group container. • Added safeguards against duplicate profiles that could arise from a sync race when setting up a second device — the app now automatically reconciles down to a single profile. Improved: Logging Accuracy • Consumption entries now store a nutrition snapshot at the moment they're logged, so editing a food item's calories/macros later no longer rewrites your historical log. Improved: Performance • App launch no longer blocks on opening the CloudKit-backed store — the UI appears immediately with a brief loading state while the data container initializes in the background. • Removed leftover template code and unused files; reduced noisy debug logging. Fixes • Fixed HealthKit weight sync status handling. • General CloudKit sync reliability fixes.
