As simple or as in depth as you need it to be

I’ve been weight training for nearly a decade now and I’ve always wanted to take a more meticulous approach to my diet. However, apps always seemed to opinionated or too demanding in terms of input. I wanted something simple, something easy and quick to use to track my intake.

EatWrite helped fill that need with their QOL features to help streamline the process. I can quickly add my meals and use the data visualization to get a quick Birds Eye view of my gains.

Overall, no more contemplations, this app is the one to fulfill your macro tracking needs. Excited to continue tracking my gains with this app! 💪

Diamond in the rough!

I’ve been on the hunt for a good calorie counter for a good while now. I’ve tried most of the popular ones like MyFitnessPal which has a lot of features but the amount of ads in that app is frankly ridiculous and super distracting. The UI is also confusing and the pre-filled entries in the food section are usually wrong as well. The vision AI one that’s popular right now is even worse. It relies on a gimmick that doesn’t even work and has never given me an accurate estimate in terms of calories or macros. It wasn’t until I found EatWrite that I was finally able to stick with an app and started to consistently track my calories. It’s a new app so there’s still features being added regularly but for me, it already has all of the features I need and the UI is super intuitive and easy to use. The dev also seems to be pretty active with updates happening regularly. Would recommend to try this app out if like me, you’re not satisfied with the popular options.

Best Calorie Counter Out There

EatWrite has quickly become one of my favorite tools for tracking calories and improving my eating habits. What sets this app apart is how seamlessly it blends food logging with journaling—it's not just about numbers, but also about reflecting on why and how you're eating. That mindfulness angle makes it feel more personal and sustainable.

The interface is intuitive and modern, and logging meals is quick thanks to a smart food database and barcode scanner. I especially like the daily prompts that encourage you to write about your meals, hunger levels, or emotions. It really helps bring awareness to patterns and triggers, which many other calorie trackers tend to overlook.

The app also does a great job with visual feedback—macros, calorie trends, and nutritional summaries are easy to interpret. It syncs well with fitness trackers too, so it gives a complete picture of your day.

A few features still feel like they’re being refined, such as custom meal creation or exporting journal entries, but the development seems active and responsive to feedback.

If you're looking for a calorie counter that goes beyond just numbers and helps you build a mindful relationship with food, EatWrite is a thoughtful and well-designed choice.
