I can see many bats flying around but tge detector can not identify any

I first purchased this device about three years ago and was very pleased with the performance but now even after downloading updates it appears go be unable to identify any bat signals. Very disappointing!

Misleading…

An absolute waste of effort; seems app does not function unless you purchase a device through the app for $149. Very disappointing 😢

Love this app

It’s like having a magic little device that lets you enter the world of the little bats once it hits twilight. I had to wait an extra day once it came in because the weather had dropped below 50°F here and I knew the bats would be in torpor, but the next day I got out and identified so many different species right in my backyard. It even amplifies the sound so that you can hear what they might sound like at a range you can hear and understand and it’s just really amazing. The app is very easy to use as well. I do wish it would identify the bats whether you were recording or not, but it’s a small downside for the very many ups the app has.

Unusable

Unfortunately I actually have the echo meter (it was a gift), but they no longer make the echo meter for apple phones and none of the third party adapters work :( so I have the meter and app, and can’t connect them! super frustrated that they stopped making for apple. We tried everything and even went to the apple store because we thought we needed brand-name adapter - but apple doesn’t make usbc to lightning adapter :( bummed

!! Do not update to Version 3.1 !! - Missclassifications of bat species

The previous version was great, I had very few complaints and would have given 5 stars. But the update has made the app nonfunctional. All species are missclassified. E.g a call of a horseshoe bat is mistaken for a soprano pipistrelle. No human who has a bit of an experience would ever make this mistake due to the distinctly shaped calls of horseshoe bats. All other species are also mixed up (common pipistrelle mistaken for northern bat, northern bat mistaken for noctule …). Do not download the new version! This needs to be fixed asap.

Working great but now broken

I use this app a lot and it’s great. However an update was released yesterday and now the app won’t open. Please fix

Great little device

This device is surprisingly easy and accurate, especially for my area in California.

It’s like having a superpower!

I love bats! But how can I identify which species it is if they only come out in the dark? The answer to that conundrum is this app, along with an Echo Meter Touch Pro 2. The hardware enables recording and displaying sounds up to more than 350kHz, and identifies the species from their distinctive echolocation chirps. Now I know who my new bat friends are!

Cal aprfundir!

Discontinued?

The in app link for the plug in module results in a 404 - as does the App Store link for the developers website

Not clear this requires expensive additional kit

It’s not made clear that a) you need expensive microphone to use and b) doesn’t actually work with iPhone anyway. Developers seem to assume prior knowledge of these facts as it’s not clear in the app information. Just state these requirements clearly before all the tedious technical minutiae as it’s frustrating to download only to discover it’s completely useless.

Not on iPhone

No IOS therefore unusable for me.

Disappointed

Why is the app still available in the Apple Store if it’s discontinued for iOS?

Bola, bola, bola mess

It’s just a website link

Just marketing!

This is for Echo Meter 2 which requires a part that isn’t made and costs money. It is not the free original Echo Meter and is nothing but s promotional pitch for other products. Won’t do business with this company again.

Not compatible with iOS

I would give this zero stars if I could as this is not compatible with iOS devices. Apparently it used to work for iOS but why keep it on the store if the device you have to buy to get it to work won’t fit an Apple phone?

Black

The latest upgrade may have fixed some bugs but now the time, date and battery status lettering is black on a black background. Previously it was white lettering on a black background. We work in low light situations, WA, and black letters on a black background doesn’t work! Put it back to white please!
