Limited scheduling
If you have a standard working life, the scheduling is just fine. But if you are trying to deal with time-of-use electricity pricing, or have a solar system and want to take advantage of the essentially free power during the day, the limited scheduling options create problems. Fortunately, I could create a routine in Alexa to get exactly what I wanted.

Terrible app
Too many functions hidden away making user hunt for the basic and simplest functions. Installed a day ago and having it replaced tomorrow. Stick with Honeywell
No geofencing on iOS
This is very frustrating. After investing in multiple Ecobee thermostats and sensors I learn that the app only does geofencing home/away setback on Android. On iOS you need to use HomeKit, which means you need to buy a HomePod. This is a terrible design decision.

I installed the ecobee app just before heading out to the airport. It was quick and easy to install. I love adjusting my AC temp from over in Canada. I return to CA next week. Glad my energy bill won’t be through the roof. 👏
Quite an uninventive application
Waste of screen real estate. App badly needs a reboot, the several-year-direction it's going in is a dead end. Menus aren't user and flow-friendly. That's what you get when developers get complacent and pat their own backs.
frustrated
i really like that i’ve been able to control temps while away from home. i’m running into a major issue though and i don’t know if it’s a glitch or what. every time i try to set a schedule, it doesn’t save even after the save button is pressed. i’ve given up on scheduling the temps to be cooler at night even though that’s one of the main reasons i got the system

App is terrible
This has to be the least intuitive app I use. UX is rubbish. Needs a rebuild.
Schedule system sucks on app
The scheduling system on the app doesn’t work well. For this you should use the thermostat schedule feature which works the same way but is less buggy
Tonight’s report
I don’t feel the heat, but the cold anymore. The humidity is not as difficult as I remember. My body hurts from the chill because of the damage from my overwork when I was younger. Being able to adjust the temperature from my phone is making me a little lazy but I do appreciate the convenience. Thank you.👍🙏😘

Offline since update
App stopped connecting to my thermostat after most recent update rendering the app and “smart” functions useless.
Best thermostat app
I have used several thermostat apps… nest, Google, Lennox, iComfort to name a few and the ecobee app is by far the best I’ve used. Bravo!
Not a fan of their app
The app makes it really hard to find all the features and turn off the advanced settings. I’ve been burning up at night since it hasn’t been actually cooling the set temperature. Not sure if their sensors are accurate either.
Main setup screen does NOT show the “No” button!
Does not allow me to press the “No” button when trying to install a new device and the app asks if it’s installed and powered on!! The screen cuts off anything below the “Yes, it’s installed” button. I guess the “genius” developers didn’t test usage on an iPhone SE! If I could give this negative stars I would.

Fan Timer Bug
Can’t find a way to report a bug so hopefully you see this. The latest version of the app will set the Fan Timer to your next scheduled comfort zone if you have the fan turn on for 1 or 2 hours. 45 minutes and below all work fine. But 1 or 2 hours can make your fan run for the entire day.
Not intuitive
I miss my sensi thermostat, which we replaced with the ecobee when we thought our furnace stopped working. The ecobee app is confusing and way overcomplicated to create a schedule.

Horrible UX
I truly have never encountered a technology with worse user experience than the ecobee thermostat and app. It makes no sense.
