My thoughts

Agonizing

Response from developer

Sorry you're having difficulty with the Edsby app. Try this: https://www.edsby.com/help/navigating-edsby-app-students/. In case you're not aware, a richer Edsby user experience is via desktop or laptop web browser. Point a browser to your school or district’s Edsby server address, in the form of http://your-server.edsby.com.

Broken App

Can you PLEASE fix your app? It’s been like two weeks since the app would just give a white screen. I have school starting soon and I don’t want to have to log in to the website every time. Please fix it.

Response from developer

There must be something with your device. Ask your school for assistance if needed. Thousands of other users successfully install and configure the Edsby app every day, especially this time of year.

Dreadful app

This is the worst app I have ever used in my entire existence. The worst part is they make us use it, I can’t do my normal school life without it. I can’t even sign in. Idk why our schools would use it when it literally has a 1.7 star rating. I’m sick and tired of this poor excuse of an educational app. Do better edsby do better.

If you're not able to log in, you've got your username, password or Edsby server address wrong. Or, your district has tied its Edsby system into Google or Microsoft login systems. Many Edsby sites customize how users log in. Ask your school what you should be using. This might also help: https://www.edsby.com/help/students/navigating-the-edsby-app

Terrible

Continues to be terrible with limited functionality. No app notifications for added content? Blame the user and give a stock message about the feedback and future improvements that are never deployed.

Response from developer

Edsby has notifications. Have you set them up? They're detailed here, along with other capabilities of the Edsby app: https://www.edsby.com/help/navigating-the-edsby-app/

Pain and suffering

Better than canvas ig

Response from developer

Thank you.

Can’t log in

I randomly cannot go in into my edsby account and the district I go to is the greater Essex county district school board and when I try to log in from student and staff login, it said that “ Sorry, but we’re having trouble signing you in.” But how can I fix this issue?

Response from developer

Pursue any login problems with your school district. It may periodically have issues with its central login systems, or might be choosing to suspend logins temporarily. Each Edsby system uses local school district systems to manage its logins.

Logs me out randomly

Always logs me out randomly every so often. I never have the username and password either because it’s so picky with what can be the username. So if I need to check something important, and I’m logged out. I’m hooped. No other app randomly logs you out every month or so. Stupid

Response from developer

Your school or district may have set a policy to require re-authentication regularly for security, e.g. when logins to all your official systems are managed by Google or Microsoft. That's your school or district's choice, not the Edsby software.

Glitchy Galore

Edsby and the apps are always super glitchy. Not sure why they can never troubleshoot. Perhaps from going too big, too fast and can’t keep up. I have a lot of patience with new technology and as a teacher, but even making assignments under content is glitchy. For example, when editing a title, the assignment disappears after saving. I wish we would go back to D2L LMS. I get discourage from updating and building online courses with EDSBY. Not teacher friendly for using. However, I do like it as a communication tool and that’s it.

Response from developer

Edsby is constantly introducing new features and applying fixes. There are indeed many teacher features like gradebook that require considerable screen real estate and are therefore not available on the mobile app and are not planned for mobile. May we suggest you report issues to your internal Edsby team at your school or district and they can help troubleshoot, and involve Edsby, if there are indeed bugs causing content or assessment problems for you.

Straight teeth

Its just straight teeth nothing more to it

Response from developer

Edsby is continually improving its mobile apps. On mobile, there’s a lot to shoehorn into a small user interface, and different user roles have different priorities. Expect further enhancements soon. In the meantime, you can always point a laptop or desktop browser to your school or district’s Edsby system for a richer experience.

Terrible App!

I really do not like Edsby. It is slow, hard to use, and makes school work feel more confusing. The app is full of buttons and menus that are not easy to understand. Sometimes it takes too long to find important information like homework and grades.

The design looks old and boring. Notifications can be annoying, and the app does not always make it clear what needs to be done. Using Edsby feels like extra work instead of something that helps students stay organized. I would not recommend this app unless it becomes much easier and faster to use.

Bad app wish schools did not use it

Glitchy and will not clear assignment notifications

Doesn’t work

School please stray away from this app. it doesn’t load half of my grades and it never loads. it’s very frustrating to ask each teacher what i got after every assignment and test. i’m going into grade 10 so this is extremely stressful and unnecessary

amazing

idk why the bad reviews it's better altternative to having to go to google to access edsby also not glitchy

Needs an Overhaul

There has got to be a better solution for schools to communicate with families. This app is clumsy and difficult to navigate. I get so many notifications every day that I miss the important ones. Grades are difficult to read/understand. Report cards are not in an easy to read format. Submitting absences should be so straight forward but selecting the times is so frustrating! It is super annoying to receive email notifications about new posts that you can’t even read within the email - you have to go to the app to see anything. Clicking on the email doesn’t even open the app it makes you sign in via a browser. At least 95% of people are managing their family’s lives on a mobile device and this mobile app needs a complete overhaul. How so many schools chose this is beyond me. Then again, common sense is lacking a lot in public schools these days.

Great!

It’s great

Awful

Worst “communication” app ever. Hated by every parent, teacher, and student forced to use it.

The worst

Truly the most glitchy app of all time. When was the last update? 2004?!?

hi

i like the confetti when an assignment is submitted it makes me feel so proud 🥹

Additional

edsby had brought horror to many students. this is why technology is hated on sometimes, because students back in the day couldn’t go on their phone on a P.D. to check homework ☹️

This app shouldn’t even exist

This app is completely useless, inconvenient, and not user-friendly at all. It hasn’t improved over the years and is glitching very often. The 'Remember Me' feature is broken, forcing me to re-enter my full credentials every single time I open it, even for a short moment. It is 2026, and such a basic function should work without issues. It is a disgrace that the School Board allows such a poor-quality app to be used by students and parents. The 1.7-star rating in the app store speaks for itself. A total waste of time.
