Truly Terrible
Low functionality. Very glitchy. When it works it does the bare minimum - turn the heater on and off, adjust the temp. Remote access is hit and miss. Often completely unavailable to connect. Not possible to actually set custom times you want the heater to turn on / off. It’s a shame this company has clearly placed zero focus on this side of their product

Truly awful
What an example of an app that has just been left to rot. From a so called premium fire supplier I expected better. Save time and effort. Just use the provided old style remote instead.

Same as the other app that they have. don’t waste you money buying their product if you like smart home integration!!

Has never really worked well. Occasionally works until you would like to switch fire on remotely then app cannot find fire or app crashes. Incredibly frustrating and not reliable. Best to just forget that you can use app on phone and accept that you can only use the remote provided with the fire. I have wasted many hours trying to get it to work…

No new features for 8 years
Escea know this app is terrible and yet do nothing about it. When people ask me about my fire I tell them to never buy Escea because of this app.
Absolute disappointment
The app crashes whenever it’s re-opened. The design and functionality is from the 90s and absolutely not en par with Escea’s ambition to deliver premium products.

Kids have broken the actual remote, but this app remote never works. Poor experience for such an expensive fireplace

My fireplace has gone offline, can’t seem to turn it on .. can’t find it on my network .. don’t understand why it struggles to work .. sometimes it randomly works
Escea make a great fireplace; but not apps
Escea make a great fireplace, I certainly see them as best in class, but I think in 2023 they should have a much better app, this lets them down and gives the impression they are not modern and high-tech. Escea should recognise importance on the software and customer experience side of more digital customers, and just what consumers have come to see across other products and expect.
I spent $25k on my DS1650, I wish the app matched the product. It crashes unexpectedly, can’t modify schedule via app; can’t set schedules based on weather or temperature, or different days of week. All simple schedules for any other smart home product.

Doesn’t work on mobile data network
When using the App on Telstra’s mobile network the fire comes up as “unavailable“ more often than not. Extremely unreliable to the point of useless. (Works fine on local wifi network.) I’m not expecting a fix anytime soon based on the time for previous bug fixes. Very disappointing.
Extremely poor quality
The app for this heater is has not worked for many months. I cannot control my $10k heater the way it was sold to me that it would function. Absolutely terrible - pick up your game Escea. I am a building designer and will NEVER RECOMMEND these heaters based on the archaic lack of support for the technology associated with an otherwise excellent product.

Timer doesn’t work
What a ridiculous bad app.

They fixed it. Back are controls for setting flame effect, fan boost and timers. Well done and thanks, Escea!
Lazy Devs
Their Devs are extremely lazy when it comes to updating their app it’s been over a year since I could control my fireplace with my phone, I contacted them and they said that the iPhone update affected their app and they are working on it. Taking a year to update an app is not expectable especially when their heaters are $10k+ and are advertised to work with phones, false advertising if you ask me.

Broken
This app no longer works with the latest version of iOS. It’s broken. Repeated request to the Escea help desk for an update on a fix have been ignored. We spent a fortune on a new Escea fireplace and yet their care factor appears to be less than zero.
Disappointed
Half the time I open the App it says fireplace is unavailable. It has a Ethernet connection and if you log into smart heat via web it works fine so clearly issue with the App.
This app could be so much better, have schedules etc like most heat pump providers do. I suggest taking a look at them to get some ideas.
