Complain complain

Since load shedding has ended, it has just become a place where the middle class now goes to complain. Kind of like mini Twitter. There’s a plane flying overhead? Bet, there’s going to be a chat about this.

Next - you think you’re going to delete your profile and be done with all that bonus drama? No. The delete your account and data doesn’t work. It prompts you to contact the developer. Which I did, through their bug reporting tool. But now 3 days later, no feedback. Safe to assume my data will forever be linked to these drama queens, and one day when the aliens go through these thousand year records, I’ll be classed with these people asking “why are there planes flying overhead?”

FAQ

What does EskomSePush do?

EskomSePush (ESP) is an app designed for South Africa that provides accurate loadshedding schedules for your specific suburb and area. It also facilitates connection with your local community through dedicated chat groups.

How does the app help with loadshedding?

The app delivers precise loadshedding schedules based on your actual location, not generic blocks. You receive timely push notifications, including a 55-minute heads-up, before your power is scheduled to go off. You can also follow multiple areas to stay informed about home, work, or family locations.

What kind of community features does it offer?

ESP features local community chats grouped by suburb, allowing you to connect with your neighbors. You can use these chats to verify if an outage is loadshedding or a local fault, and to share information about other neighborhood events like water outages or road issues.

Is EskomSePush free to use?

The app is free to download and use, offering its core loadshedding tracking and community features without charge. However, it does have in-app purchases available.

What are the benefits of using the community chats?

The community chats provide a focused and local space to communicate with your neighbors. They are designed to be helpful and relevant, allowing residents to support each other, share important local information, and find solutions to neighborhood problems together.
