I’m learning faster with this app!, but I don’t like the low quality of voices record in the slow run
THIS APP IS A SCAM
They will rob you blind. They make the subscription impossible to cancel. I have been getting charged for at least 4 months for an account I have closed and emailed them about. Both them and Paddle, the company that handles their billing, have refused to stop charging me. I’m going to have to freeze my credit card, which is my primary card, to get them to stop. DO NOT SIGN UP TO PAY THEM.

This app is a complete scam I don’t have the app on any of my devices and they took my information from my Apple wallet for a quarterly subscription. Do not make any purchases with this app they will make it so difficult to refund.

Excelente. Es mi app favorita para practicar el inglés. Poder leer libros y si no entiendes una palabra solo tienes que tocarla para que te de la traducción es fenomenal. Descubrí que una muy buena forma de aprender el idioma

Poor customer service and unreasonable refund policy! Very disappointing experience! I requested a refund just one day past the automatic renewal, I sent them several emails, and they refused. Other companies usually have no problem with this, but EWA chose not to! Also their app feels ‘clunky’ and has ‘scripted’ exercises that remind me years ago when I was in 7th grade Spanish class and we learned rote phrases like”Donde esta la biblioteca?” BEWARE EWA.

Frustrating
I chose this app as an additional learning tool to supplement another language app. I found Ewa frustrating to use, the sound quality was poor and the speed of talking in the video clips made them difficult to understand plus the lack of variety in the practice material make lessons boring and difficult to learn (despite the relentless cheerful enthusiasm of the avatars).
Canceling the subscription was another big headache. It turns out that it is very easy to cancel your account without canceling the subscription, so bills keep coming and it is difficult to get support (either from Ewa or from paddle.com, the billing agent) to resolve the situation. I had the feeling the support staff was more concerned with supplying a quick response to an email than actually helping resolve the issue at hand.

No speed control!
I was looking forward to using this app. Started listening to George Orwell’s 1984. The reader goes way too fast and there is no way to slow her down! I wish I hadn’t gotten the year’s subscription. I complained to the developer. The developer responded that I can “adjust the speed.” That’s something I already knew. The problem is that I can only adjust the speed to go faster. It’s already too fast. I need to adjust the speed so it is slower.

It’s just OK
1) I’m an adult, so I don’t need a bunch of children’s cartoons and participation prizes, which seems to be the point of 90% of this app.
2) Each of the books I read were clearly entirely translated by a bad AI with no humans reviewing it for errors.
2) Also, there’s no punctuation in the books, other than periods, making it hard to follow a simple conversation when you can’t tell who’s talking!
3) Worse, when you click on the “translate” area to get help about who IS talking in a conversation, the AI translates everything to the masculine “he”, “his”, “him” etc even when it’s a woman.
I’m done. Now looking for something better.

Do NOT Purchase- Impossible to Cancel
The product itself is fine. However, I have been trying to cancel my 3 reoccurring month membership for 2 billing cycles and am out over $60. I thought it was canceled 3 months ago, apparently it was not. I am not receiving any help from Paddle and Zendesk when I reach out to their customer service, I get a chat bot and emails that do nothing and go nowhere. I’m about to report it as fraud to my bank at this point.

Impossible to stop subscription
I have deleted the account but it keep attempts to charge for renewal. I can’t even find or log in my account anymore to find out what’s going on as account is already deleted. I have to make my primary card to 0 balance to prevent unwanted subscription renewal until they fix this. I have reached out to customer service to investigate but not sure when they can come back to me and fix this dodgy system issue

Hi so I have a issue with the app I find that what options you do have are quite limited and honestly boring please add Japanese and Korean I’m positive I’m not the only one who wants these added hope to hear back on this
Does not let you cancel
I would not purchase this app. I did not use it enough to justify the $20 pm. I have submitted many tickets to cancel. I am going on month 4 with no response and no cancellation. That is $80 for no reason.
