Indispensable For New Yorkers & Tourists Alike
I’m a lifelong NYC resident and Exit Strategy is probably my most used and valued iPhone app of all. At subway stops with just one exit, it can save you time by identifying which subway car to be in so you’re closest to the exit when you reach that station. But where the app really shines is in the many stations that have two or more exits leading you to different places. Choosing the wrong one can waste a lot of time walking to where you actually need to be. Transferring between subway lines is also so much easier with Exit Strategy to guide where you need to be, which is not always readily apparent at the station. Even though I’ve lived in NYC all my life, his app has still saved me so much time over the years by giving me the info I need to be maximally efficient in my use of the subways. Plus the interface is completely intuitive and speedy to use. Also, if you’re coming into town as a tourist with the intention of riding the subways, I can’t recommend it any more highly. It will save you from many conversations asking for directions to take the best way out of a subway station.

Must Have for Every New Yorker
This app is perfect for it’s simplicity, elegance, and no nonsense purpose. New Yorkers value their time; so many euphemisms exist about the relationship between NYC and time. This app not just honors those sentiments, it encourages and helps make the most of one’s time.
Native New Yorkers know these exit locations by heart. And despite being a NYC resident for nearly 25 years, I have used this app for 17 of them to get place to place in the shortest time possible. In all that saved time, I haven’t come across a remotely comparable way to efficiently navigate one of the longest running mass-transit systems in the world.
It’s a must have for anyone living or visiting the greatest city in the world - where it never sleeps, a minute is a lifetime, and making it there means unlimited success.

Please update :)
Thanks the best app that I still use many days! But please add the new changes- the F and M lines have been switched and this needs to be updated. Thanks so much!
Faulty subway info
This used to be bulletproof, but today in one Manhattan trip, there were TWO connections that were wrong. One showed a non-existent 7 line connection on the RW lines. And another was missing a connection.
This app can be handy, but don’t rely on it if in a hurry.

Most used app
As a New Yorker for 20 years this is one of my favorite apps. I’ve had this app for almost as long as I’ve been here. I know where to stand on the tracks where exits are and it’s been reliable since the day I downloaded it. I didn’t even realize that the app has continued to be updated. Thanks!
Terrible value
For $20, you would expect a fully functional app that is updated. But there are stations missing from the lines, and each time you open the app, you have to “back” out of whatever random section of the app that it starts you in. If this was a $2 app, I’d give it 3 stars.
Great app but outdated Q subway line
Could you update the Q line (96th, 63rd, etc). Station names and maps are outdated, making the app confusing. Hope it’s not huge work to make this happen.
Update Map
Swap F/M
The best app for New Yorkers!
This app is INVALUABLE for navigating the subway efficiently. It's saved me from missing connections so many times, and it makes getting where you're going so much easier. Thank you for the great app!
Don't wait. Get this app NOW.
I've had this app for almost 20 years. Pretty sure it was the first app I ever paid for, on an iPod Touch around '07/'08. The description says it all. Don't wait. This is $4 VERY well spent. I'm a native NYer, but no one knows exactly where to stand for every possible exit at every station. Now you can. If you care about maximizing the efficiency of your commute, download this immediately. Honestly, they can/should charge more.

Awesome
As a NYC subway rider this is by far the best app for efficient use of waiting at the right place on the platform
for a train to arrive to improve my subway exit.

More than a Decade of Use
I first bought this app more than 10 years ago and it is probably the transit app I open most frequently in NYC. It requires no Internet, so can be used underground. While other transit apps may have more frills, this has been my trusty guide almost every day in New York.
Time and energy saver
Who wants to walk around stinky subway stations avoiding rats and water dripping from random places. This app helped save so much time that would’ve been wasted walking through some of the maze like nyc subway platforms. Would recommend if you use the subway to get around all of nyc.
Essential for all New Yorkers.
I’ve been using this app religiously for over 15 years. I beat every crowd to the stairs every time. I know which stairs are the quick ones (last car going to Yankee Stadium gang stand up). Every friend asks how I know where to stand on every platform, and every one is amazed by how useful this info is. I wish I could support the devs more.just for maintaining this essential repository of NYC transit knowledge.

A truly useful app!
Over the years papas have come and gone, but I have always had Exit Strategy! Such a useful app and I’m so happy to see it getting updates.
Still great
I've been using this app since the year it came out and it's a huge timesaver. Highly recommended!
Neighborhood map needs update
Good app. Unfortunately neighborhood map (for detailed station entrance information) has not been updated. Q and 7 line extensions not included
So Happy to see Update!
I love this app but haven’t used it for a while figuring it has been abandoned by developer. Then I saw current update. Fabulous! Two clicks gives instant easily readable info on where line goes and what car you should be in to exit efficiently. It won’t give you real time or track route changes but the MTA app will do that if you need it. This is a great everyday app for quick, well presented info. Thank you!
