Locked workflow and missing basic filing options
This app is not designed for real-world expat situations. Once you choose a filing path, you’re essentially locked in and can’t easily change critical items like filing status (married filing jointly vs separately) without starting over.
There’s no clear way to go back and adjust foundational information per tax year, which is a major issue for anyone filing under streamlined procedures or correcting prior returns. The workflow forces you to redo entire sections just to fix one mistake, which wastes a lot of time.
It also doesn’t clearly surface important items like marital status per year or allow flexible editing once you reach the review stage. For something as complex as expat taxes, this level of rigidity is frustrating and not acceptable.
Overall, the app may work for very simple cases, but for anything involving multiple years, foreign income, or filing strategy decisions, it becomes limiting very quickly.
