About

I built this app because logging blood pressure should be simple — but somehow it never was. Stressful enough to raise my blood pressure, honestly. I tried a Bluetooth blood pressure monitor. Waiting 20 seconds staring at my iPhone while it tried to connect was just... a regular thing. I also had a monitor where the Velcro cuff wore out but the parts weren't sold separately, so the whole unit had to be replaced. Ended up going back to a basic manual monitor. I also tried the camera-scanning type of app. Seemed like a great idea — point and done. But in practice: get the focus right on the LCD, hold the phone steady, wait for OCR to recognize the numbers. Some apps even call out to a server over the network for some reason. All this for six digits. So I thought — if all I need is to save to Apple Health, why not just type it in directly? So I opened Health. Turns out it's surprisingly clunky. Multiple taps just to get to the blood pressure screen. Then you type the three digits for systolic, and have to tap the diastolic field manually — it's small, and half asleep in the morning that's genuinely annoying. The save button is up in the top right corner, miles away. So I built a simple app for my own morning and evening routine. When the systolic number looks like a real systolic number, the cursor jumps to diastolic automatically. The save button is somewhere your thumb can actually reach. If your current setup works fine, no need to switch. But if something about it is bugging you, give this a try.
