App Need updates
Probably the best Drumkit to automate via midi on iOS DAWs, the app UI is great, lots of parameters and good sounds pre-loaded. However I noticed starting in 2025 few first and rare glitches when reloading sessions with the plugins not loading, a replace/reload was Ok. Now, March 2026, the FAC Drumkit plugin is broken in Cubasis, Logic Pro and often fails in AUM. It used to be reliable like a clockwork, now it’s unstable therefore unusable for Music Prod on iOS. The maintenance of Music Apps on iOS is a true challenge not specific to this app and limits adoption Personally, I would be Ok to help supporting the maintenance of the app and chip-in like AUM does offer. FAC Drumkit did not get updates for 2 years and may need an AI code review the multiple iOS updates in last 2 years to ensure AuV3 compatibility. Thank you for considering. Would love to rate this app 5 star when it runs again. Thank you.

Essential
I’ve been wanting to go deep on sound design for drums (mainly progressive house). This is the one - I can finally sculpt the sounds I want instead of endlessly farting around with sample packs!
Just the right amount of control without being overwhelming.
Huuuuuuge thanks to the dev! This thing is a beast and deserves a place in everyone’s toolbox.

Drum central right here!
The fact that you can create your own drums and use it with a electronic drum kit to play around is amazing. Great app yall
Horses for courses
FAC DrumKits is very much an app for fiddlers. No, not those who pluck strings, but rather rhythm makers who want to endlessly alter the parameters of sound samples. Tweaking to the last degree. In that task the app succeeds fabulously. So why 4 stars? Because FAC Drumkit does nothing without a third party app such as Polybeat to send it instructions/ drum sequences. Also, the presets included could be a lot better and more varied. PatschStorage currently offers a few more, most of which are experimental noises. The best of which is DJ Puzzles Gretsch Kit. Others are available elsewhere, but really at this point for an app that is not cheap by IOS standards, a few dozen kits should come baked in, offering an array of different setups without needing to hunt around.

Powerful Drum Designer
As with every FAC app, the attention to detail is impressive and perfectly executed. The interface is brilliant. File browsing entire folders makes auditioning samples so much easier than having to use the Apple file browser.
The tools for manipulating and creating drums are laid out in such a useful way. Fred really has his UI design down in all his apps.

Great Hybrid Drum Sounds
There are other iOS drum machines that can combine samples and oscillators, but FAC Drumkit makes it easy and immediate. Pairs nicely with Logic Pro and other DAWs. If you get only one drum engine for iOS, this should be a contender.
No Sequencer :(
Unlike Sugar Bytes Drum Computer, this drum app does not have a sequencer. That’s unfortunate because I bought it before knowing that and there’s no returns. Other than that, I really like it’s extensive sound sculpting features. I’ll change my review if Frederic Corvest designs a companion sequencer app to compliment this drum machine.

A MONSTER!
The most powerful drum app that no one knows about! Utter control and sonic power… all easily editable and lightweight (great for basic iPad's)
All the drum sounds can be sent to individual output or multiple drums (kicks) can be sent to one output… very flexible!
My favorite Drum App!

My favorite Drum App!
Great!
Really great app for sound designing your drums. I just wish you could import your own samples
Multi-out
Is multi-out broken or am i doing something wrong?
Response from developer
Hi No, the routing is saved by preset and the multi-out is working! All the best,
Beat 2,3,4
Excellent - nice new update 11-24-22!
If you import samples and they seem too quiet, check that the original wav file is full amplitude. If not, normalize it. I have many hundreds of drum samples and most needed to be normalized. These were purchased commercial collections. FWIW
Like all FAC apps this one sounds great and has some cool features. Get it!

Low sound on user/imported samples
The user imported samples are very low in volume. It’s a very good drum synth/maker thing, but its not for me. I thought the sample manipulation was gonna be next level, but it isn’t.
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback, the volume of the samples is altered by the Amp Envelope and the level. One of your settings is probably too low, long touch the sample name (label) and touch "Reset Sampler" in the menu to get your original sound. Then alter the pitch envelope of your sample or the filters... Do not hesitate to contact me > http://fredantoncorvest.com/know_issues.html All the best, Fred

Epic
This thang is epic!!! Super flexible and beautiful sounds!!!
Fantastic
Great Drum Sound Creator app.
Fantastic sounding drum synth, just one wish…
I love this drum synth, it sounds great and the interface is well thought out. I just wish there was the option to have a midi channel per sound, so that you could use the notes to control the pitch. This would make sequencing so much easier than using CC, then you could easily modulate the pitch using an app like Patterning.

Instantly useable, or infinitely tweakable
This has become a go-to drum app for me. Although it doesn’t have a sequencer built in, it plays well with all the ones I have (Octachron, Rozeta XOX, Polybeat etc) with little or no setup. I was also pleased to see all 16 pads on the Arturia Beatstep Pro mapping by default. Not being particularly competent when it comes to mapping midi from one app to another, I was happy to see this working ‘straight out of the box’.
And that’s worth mentioning. 16 channels! Pretty sure I’ll never be lacking in options here. There are a good amount of built in presets, with a variety of styles, and all with excellent quality sounds. But the option to create your own is where FACdrumkit comes into its own.
Each sound is created from 2 oscillators, and a sample player. Of course you don’t need to use all 3, any combination that takes your fancy (and this is where you can get lost for hours, if that’s your thing).
You can also import your own samples, to a certain length, to makes some crazy sounds.
Both oscillators, and the sample player have hugely tweakable envelopes for both pitch, and amplitude. And these work beautifully.
There is a mixer for balance (inc mute/solo & pan), which is where you can also output each channel separately, in apps that support multi-bus out. AUM/Cubasis etc.
There have been at least 2 major free updates since release, both with significant additions, improving on an already excellent app. Cannot recommend enough.

I’ll give it ‘Foive’
The following review was written before the update to the 4 sec. sample limit. It’s even better now but I can’t give it any more stars, - shame
I held back, only for a short while, thinking that a 1 second limit on sample length was too reminiscent of my early days of sampling. But having given it some thought, decided to give it a go. Absolutely the right decision. This is a “drum sample player” and as such is suited to the task. Lacking for me only one minor function, the ability to edit the MIDI note allocations, which the developer has said will be available in a future update. A more comprehensive manual would make things a little clearer but that doesn’t really detract from the function and usability of DrumKit and it has to be said that Fred is both approachable and responsive to requests. Gotta be worth the 5*s.
