Cheaper to go ifacialmocap or livelink

Awesome app for 4+ years

I’ve been using this app for 4 years and it’s been consistently excellent. I run a small animation studio, I teach with this app, and I love supporting small businesses as well. This app is so useful because it records FBXs & WAVs from voice actors without any fuss, making it easy for a technical animator to work with the data. Niels consistently responds to questions promptly and even supported my students in the MIT MITES program last year. Long live Face Cap!!

FAQ

What does Face Cap do?

Face Cap allows you to record your facial performance using your mobile device's camera. It then processes this data to create facial motion capture files that can be exported for use in 3D animation software.

What kind of data can I export?

You can export your captured facial motion data in two formats: FBX, which includes mesh, blendshapes, and animation data, or TXT, which contains only animation data.

Can I use my own 3D models with this app?

Yes, the app supports importing custom avatars from popular 3D software like Blender or Maya. This allows you to apply the captured facial performance to your own character models.

Is this app free to use?

The app is free to download and use with in-app purchases available for advanced features or export options. Specific pricing details for in-app purchases can be found within the app itself.

What are the main use cases for Face Cap?

This app is ideal for quickly capturing facial performances for animation, creating realistic character expressions in games, or for virtual production workflows. It simplifies the motion capture process for individuals and small teams.
