Buggy and flawed
A lot changed since 2024. The app now gets stuck and won’t load half the time. First Seed Calendar is my new Fantastical as of today
Still Fantastic after all these years
I’ve been using Fantastical for years now, and it still my go-to calendar. It integrates so well with Google Calendar and has all the features that I need.
Great, but latest version broken
I’ve used Fantastical for years and it’s brilliant. However the latest release (updated yesterday) is broken. We use it for our family calendar and it no longer shares calendar events to other people in the calendar. This has worked perfectly so far. So for now, for us, it’s s chocolate teapot.
$56 a year to use a watch complication! 😂
After using Fantastical for several years, I was disappointed to discover that Apple Watch functionality is now tied to a $56/year Premium subscription/paywall. Worse, the Watch pairing process doesn’t work: the Watch tells me to open Fantastical on my iPhone, but tapping ‘Continue’ does nothing. I updated the app, reinstalled the Watch component, and restarted the devices, with the same result. I understand that developers need to charge for their products, but $56/year for a calendar app—especially when the advertised Watch functionality doesn’t even work—is not something I’m willing to pay for. I’m deleting the app and looking elsewhere.”

Charging for “premium” features?
This is a paid app. I have purchased it separately on my iPhone, iPad, and Android. Over time, this company has started paywalling certain features. Today, I was unable to add an invitee to a meeting. Apparently, this is a premium feature (never had this issue in the past). How can you justify charging for a calendar app and then paywalling a simple feature like editing meeting invites? This is a joke, and I no longer support your app or your company.

Great App BUT—
When you click on notification from Fantastical on a closed phone the app crashes Every time. This has been happening for months so it isn’t just random happening. It’s not the end of the world, just annoying. Other than that I’ve used the app for years and have found it to be my go to scheduling app.

Years of Use - Still Happy
I’ve been using Fantastical to manage my life and my families schedule. I’ve been very happy with it for so long. I use Google for everything and it all nicely syncs up with Fantastical. I get my reminders at my designated times, it syncs up with my Apple Watch. I can repeat events, pretty much anything I would ever need from a calendar. I find the UI very user friendly and I’ve recommended to many friends. No interest in another calendar, this is the one.

The Best!
In my view Fantastical is the most flexible and comprehensive of the calendar apps available.
What there IS is great, but…
The overall look is the best. The widgets are by far superior. But there REALLY needs to be more available customizations. Look at Calengoo. Fewer downloads, but there is almost NOTHING that cannot be customized in some way. And it is a small one-time fee. For visual creatures such as myself, and wirh ADHD, it is vital. And subscribing would be a no-brainer.
For example:
• Colored bar highlights (instead of dots) for ALL events, not just all-day ones, on the various calendar views.
• Times highlighted by colors instead of the dots in the dayticker view.
• Default view when opening (seriously?)
• Options for what to open when clicking on a day (including a pop-up)
• Include MAPQUEST
Waiting with fingers crossed!!
For example:

Great but such flaws
I have been using Fantastical for several years now. It is pretty great in so many ways. But I am SO frustrated at it’s “intelligence”. Again and again it will read what I type and thinks it knows better than me. I am just noting to lead a service on Remembrance Sunday, so select 8th November and type “Remembrance Sunday 10:30” - as soon as it sees “Sunday” it pops into next Sunday. If I don’t notice I’m stuffed (I know not to trust it fortunately). I end up typing “RemembSnday’ so it can’t read it. Commonly I want to type on the evening before an upcoming dental appointment “remember dentist tomorrow”. And of course it brings it forward to tomorrow. Infuriating.
YOU CANT SWITCH THIS OFF IN SETTINGS!
As a result I am looking for another app, but will be sorry to move in many ways.

The developer got in touch and gave me a piece of code to run in Safari which has completely disabled what they call the ‘parser’. It was easy to run and effective and I appreciate the speed of support. I hope they make this an option in settings in due course. Review upgraded from 3 to 4 stars.

Bad update
Latest update makes it impossible to have multiple alerts set for one event. This is something I use with every event. I am

Fantastical calendar를 설치해서 잘 사용하고 있습니다. 기존의 iOS calendar는, 일정 종료시간이 지나면, 미리 알림에서 삭제되는 현상이 있어서, 이에 대하 아쉬움이 있어 third party app.으로 잘 사용하고 있습니다. 그런데, fantastical calendar의 경우도 일정 시간이 경과되면 해당 알림이 사라지는 현상이 있는 것 같은데, 이러한 현상이 정상적인 현상인지 궁금합니다.

Much better to use than the standard phone calendars. I like it and it has simplified my life.
Looking for help
I’m resorting to writing a review because I cannot find support for my problem anywhere. I have Fantastical on my iPhone. I’m new and it’s working great! I installed it on my Mac. This is where I’m having trouble. I signed in using my same credentials. It does not show anything in the calendar. I try to add an event and it says no calendar found. I pull the calendar drop down box down and there isn’t any calendars there either. I signed out of Fantasical on iPhone, created a new password, then signed back into both iPhone and Mac. Still not syncing. BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO SUPPORT!
