User reviews

Waste of money

NOT user friendly … can’t change portion sizes etc
Very disappointed

Not User Friendly

It is not user friendly. If you select a favorite food it defaults to a single serving. It doesn’t allow you to copy over the quantities you logged the previous day. It was a wasted $2.99, save your money.

Response from developer

To change the serving size for any food, tap on the "Add Food" tab on the tab bar and then on the "Change food servings" and change the serving size. Tap "Save" and your serving size will then be stored in the database.

Way too basic and generic

This is am updated review. My husband was recently put on a high fiber diet. This app gives a generic number of fiber based on age and sex. After I couldn’t get the fiber count to set to what my husband’s doctor wanted, the company sent me directions. I as able to change the fiber count. I will still have to add any store bought high fiber foods, but I feel this app will now be usable. The list generated on the app is very basic.

Response from developer

To change the fiber intake to that prescribed by the doctor follow the instructions on the Settings screen - ie, tap on the 'Fiber target' box, which takes you to the 'Your target fiber intake' screen. Tap in the box labelled 'Daily target' and key in the number (of g) on the keyboard that appears. The app is curated and contains 325+ common (mainly healthy and unprocessed) foods and drinks and the user can add their own branded and other foods and recipes at any time. This means the app is standalone, does not collect any personal data, and does not require access to the Internet.

Don’t waste your money

Not sure why I failed to read the reviews on this app. It is inaccurate and not user friendly. Go spend your five bucks on two Quest bars!

Response from developer

We have now added in a barcode scanner, and we also provide a 325+ database of unbranded foods and beverages so that users can find a best fit if they don't have a barcode. We constantly improve the app's capabilities as new technologies evolve and new information becomes available. Once you have bought the app, you get free upgrades, you are not required to register, your data are not collected, additional payments are not required and there is no advertising. The "How to use the app" instructions included with the app provide guidance on how to use the Settings tab to set your preferred units for weights (g or ounces) and for amounts of nutrient (in terms of weight or % daily target) per serving and per weight unit, and how to record your intake using the barcode scanner, dictation, search and favoriting.

Difficult at best

I feel that I have wasted my money on this app. It is difficult to navigate even after reading the instructions several times. I have not been able to do what I need to do, which is simply to determine the amount of fiber in foods that I have eaten and to get a total of my daily intake.

Response from developer

The app has been redesigned using new Apple technologies. The foods and amounts you eat can be recorded easily and quickly using the barcode scanner, speech recognition (touch the microphone icon), or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided. The serving sizes are mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central, but can be changed at any time. Your progress towards your target daily intake will be visible immediately in real-time.
