Only 3 month purchase options
You are not able to connect with sitters until you upgrade to premium. There is no plan shorter than 3 months for nearly $100.
The quality of sitters was much worse than other apps. Of 14 that applied, only 8 would respond to interviews and of those only 1 actually showed up. The rest no call, no showed. We hired her and she has been disappointing and unreliable. Use urban sitter instead.

The top rated sitter in my area tried to lecture me on religion and politics. Not having it. You need a religion and world view filter.
best babysitting app ever
as a sitter, i have used Sittercity for years now and have met some wonderful families. i honestly couldn't recommend this app enough. be consistent, always check for new jobs & be reliable!!
Website is hard to understand
Great platform. Could use some revamping to make it easier to read and get all the information we need at a glance. Ex, actual location- not just a map. NY, NJ - before we click on the job
Can't delete messages!
Very helpful app and I love the adventures feature!! Very frustrating and strange, however, that you can't delete messages as my inbox gets full of expired jobs etc and crowds out message threads that are still important.

I was able to connect with a family, in need of a Nanny for their Triplets! Remained with family, for 4+ years! Love the ease of browsing, and applying to available jobs! Thank you!
Not worth it for sitters
Once you get on you will be strongly suggested to buy a $20 or more background check through the app. Also you are strongly suggested to add a profile picture. They rejected 3 profile pictures I submitted. All were simply pictures of me zoomed in to my face with appropriate clothing on. They don’t tell you what was wrong with the photos. Makes it hard to get started on the app, also Id rather not be paying money for a background check when it’s not guaranteed I’ll even get a job on here or a profile picture approved

Sittercity has literally been life changing for me! In 2021 I was able to get matched with a family with Triplets. It was hands down the most AMAZING, REWARDING experience of my life! Great app if you’re willing to pay premium
The app itself has no function unless you pay for premium. Makes absolutely no sense to label the app as free but in order to contact any of the applicants/baby sitters, you must pay for a monthly subscription. And there’s no loop holes around it either. You can’t put your phone number or email in the job description for the babysitters to see and contact you outside of the app. Seems really shady. And to whatever bot is in this comment section replying to similar 1-2 star reviews, you’re very unhelpful and don’t bother replying to my review unless you’re going to actually fix the problem.
Only giving 2 stars and not 1 star because I’ve paid for the premium once and there seems like there’s an endless amount of sitters on this app and the sitters I’ve met were all really nice.

Needs a lot of work NOT HAPPY
So I gotta be honest, I started this because I have experience as a childcare worker, and I also have 7 years under my belt, so I assumed it would be easy to work for families on this app. But this app has proven me sadly wrong, it was incredibly discouraging at times. One of the things that got me frustrated was how I wasn't noticed at all when parents would message me, normally most apps will have message notification or a sound when you get something and trust me I checked my settings on my device everything was on and working and up to date but I never knew I had potential clients until I was actually on the app!! Another thing that I felt, maybe more than anything, was that I would be the first to apply for lots of jobs, but my parents would never contact me. I also have a thorough background check and was close to a lot of families who I could have helped. I think this app is okay but amazing or perfect definitely not.

AI
The sitters and families are prompted to use AI to generate their job posts and cover letters. I’m generally pro AI but this is one case where you really want to get a feel for someone with what they write and AI takes that opportunity away because they all have the same tone and wording. It’s way too expensive for what you get. $40 a month, very few good sitters and no replies. I never found anyone after three months, $120 wasted.

Malfunctioning
Couldn’t even upload a picture of my ID as the camera function does not work (and yes I checked my settings don’t even ask me some stupid question about that) and there’s no option to upload a picture from my camera roll.

Yea. It went wrong. Shouldn’t have bothered downloading. Your spp doesn’t work. You wanna show what jobs are available around the area mind you only one not even the category I selected which was pet sitter and then I tried to finish my profile set up… profile details…whatever that you need to do…maybe even try to apply for something? Nah, you just can’t because all it tells you is something went wrong, again and again you refresh you contact customer service as it tells you to do…nothing. so yeah. don’t waste your time with these bugs. Better off just paying a fee somewhere else on an app that’s actually legit.
