Finally a GREAT APP that works
So great that I can go anywhere and the two probe system keeps me in the know! Plus I can keep notes on all my cooks which are individually categorized by date and meat I cooked. Love FireBoard

I’ve used several different apps for this exact reason and this is the one I have found to work best for me.

Why So HIGH?
The app is great. I love the ability to create and run my own programs.

Today (and other days) the software allows the fire to climb over 100 degrees beyond the set point after holding it at the set point for 2 hours. Why O Why?

Really wish I had time to reverse engineer this and write my own system. So tired of this app:
1. Always forgetting the alerts I have configured for my channels. EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL!
2. Not being able to record 24+ hour cooks in a single graph. Fix your stupid ring buffer.
3. The very difficult to follow UI. Accidentally clicked in to the full graph view? Too bad, you can’t set an alert from there. You have to guess that clicking just the number on the main page will let you do that.

Love smoking with this App. Very responsive, great graphic trend data allowing better pinpoint timing of critical cook milestones. Save data for future cooks.
Seemed good, until…
I liked this app, and it worked well with my Yoder, right up to the point that my Yoder reported that it had lost communication, at which point it ceased to cook and started cooling down. Having to constantly check that the system is connected and working is no better than having to check temperatures! Oh well, looks like takeaway food tonight!

New updates stink
Used to be great, now it won’t show the temp in real time after app updates. Please fix this!!

I don’t normally write a whole bunch of reviews even though I should. However, as a whole ecosystem, FireBoard really has outdone themselves.
I purchased a LoneStarGrillz pellet smoker and got it in April of 2024. Since then I got three pulse probes and a spark to add to the armada of temperature control. I honestly don’t what I would do without an app to watch, control, and predict my cooking. To note, I have a young son and another one on the way so my time is stretched way thing.
It’s changed my process. The app works. It just works and at the end of the day that’s all I want is for my tech and my tools to work.

Temp control
The temperature control is very unreliable. The temps drop and spike for no reason.
I shouldn’t have to check the smoker temps every 15 mins for changes

EZ to use
I find that information needed is quick to find.
Annoying
I can never get the set temp and fan mode to sync up. If I set temp fan goes off and never comes back on. If I set fan mode set temp goes away and never comes back.
Recent updates have ruined the reliability
This app has worked well for a long time, but in the past few months, there have been several updates where it’s gotten worse and worse. Half the time when I open it now I don’t even have pit control to see your control of the temperature inside the pit. It just shows the graph for the current session. I have to force close and reopen the app several times to finally get it to show the current pit temperature and setting.

A great system for grilling
Having worked in RDE Research Development and engineering for a large Chemical Company, I am quite familiar with processing conditions for a large variety of Reactions, blends etc. The Fireboard controller does a terrific job of monitoring temperatures and adjusting pellet addition rate to maintain pit set point. Included is a real time graph of the pit condition in addition to Probes inserted int the items that are being cooked, all available on the dashboard on your phone or pad. I can’t say there are any other products on the market that are close. The cost is not an issue as it is competitive. I have worke with controllers that are thousands of dollars, with comparable quality of results…
