The worst experience

Firefly doesn’t live up to any of their promises. The service is slow, takes so much time to get it a provider it’s so much faster to just walk to urgent care. They have barely any providers and they are always busy. When they come online they are ok but 0 availablity on nights and weekends. I work and can’t see a provider until I get home or early mornings. Firefly had 0 options. Companies should give employees real insurance. Not this fake insurance.

We’re sorry that our current provider availability hasn't aligned with your work schedule. We are constantly working to expand our network and hours to meet our members needs. Please contact our support team via chat in the Firefly App so we can better assist you. While we do not have availability on weekends just yet, we would be happy to help you see a provider this week.

The worst insurance ever hands down (and we had tricare)

I truly cannot say enough how absolutely furious I am with this health insurance. We cannot get away from them fast enough. The communication is an absolute train wreck. They can’t figure out who is in network and who isn’t. NOBODY has heard of firefly so there is ALWAYS billing issues we are constantly getting bills in the mail that should be covered and having to resubmit.
They don’t answer questions in a timely manner and it seems like nobody has any idea what’s going on, like everybody is constantly picking up a conversation from somebody prior so the rules keep changing. I have full fledge had it with this company. I didn’t think it could get worse than what we dealt with with tricare but at least the lack of bills were worth it then. This service is AWFUL go with literally any other insurance.

3 month wait time

Fastest appointment is in 3 months

Unreliable

They will refer you out for everything. Telehealth is supposed to be convenient and helpful. They practice defensive medicine and you can be treated for an issue for 20 years, but they won’t feel comfortable doing it. Pointless and useless.

No point in this service

The only appointments available are a month or more in advance and when I message them to see if I can get a sooner appointment, I get a generic “if you need to see someone sooner, please go to urgent care”. Yea well I thought the point of this app is that you can get a quick Dr visit for small things quickly that didn’t necessitate going to urgent care for. Might as well just take a few hours off of work and go see my PCP.. at least I can get an appt within the same week.

Impressed to say the least

Firefly Health has re-designed healthcare and health plans the way they should have always been. Highly impressed and recommend!

The best!

This makes healthcare so much more efficient and accessible. I have been a patient with Firefly for a couple years now and have never been more on top of my health. I recommend them to everyone!!

Never been helpful when sick

This seems like a good concept—I’m not super sick, let me try and do a virtual visit, maybe get some medicine. But I find the app terribly hard to use and the appointments are always like 4 months out. Just never found this service actually to be helpful. The chat people are nice but can’t do much to help, apparently.

Best healthcare I’ve ever experienced

I can’t imagine ever going back to traditional care. Firefly feels like a luxury healthcare service without the luxury price tag.

Notification stopped working?

The notification hasn't been working for the past few days.

An Apple Watch app would be awesome.

I fail to see the point

After going through all the pointless questions, the first available virtual visits with NPs, no doctors, was at least two weeks from now.

I can go to several clinics—right now— and see a NP.

So, what’s the point of this?

Horrible Service

After waiting over a month for an appointment, I got a message that they’d cancelled 15 minutes before my appointment was supposed to start. Apparently there was an issue with my insurance but nothing was done until minutes before I was supposed to join the call. What a waste of time when I could’ve been trying to find a different provider. Healthcare companies need to be held to a higher standard. You’re playing with people’s lives.

Horrible App and Conpany

They have twice now sent me a bill for $500 that was for a virtual vistit with a primary care provider that was covered by insurance. I have left voicemails about this twice and sent emails and no one has gotten back to me. Do not use this app or company.

Do NOT CHOOSE FIREFLY

This is the worst option for your healthcare option. This company has not contracted with hospitals/providers and sends you to appointments. You will pay and they will act innocent!

Amazing care wonderful, compassionate team

I’ve been with Firefly for my primary care for a few years now. They’ve been nothing short of incredible. Always responsive, caring, and going the extra mile. Would 1000% recommend to anyone looking for virtual, “whole person” primary care.

Not actually 24/7 coverage

What they meant to say was “almost 24/7 coverage”.

Went downstairs with my broken body aching to get my insurance ID card to upload to the app, and then tried to get in touch via chat through the app because I have COVID and it said their offices were closed. For emergencies, it directed me to 911.

Deleted account. Moving on.

Objectively awful

I've been a patient for over a year and have yet to uncover an avenue to actual care. Now the app is demanding a response to a highly invasive racial profiling query before allowing access to the dashboard or any of my personal data. Looks like it's time to find a new provider

Amazing

Best experience I’ve had with any provider! They’re easy to talk to, easy to interact with, and you can tell they actually care about your well-being.

Efficacy of healthcare inhibited by lab outsourcing and linear approach to healthcare

The Firefly team was incredibly nice in my two+ years with the practice. I loved being able to do virtual visits with no commute or waiting room when I had an easy to solve problem or question. They were responsive to text messages and always kind and compassionate.

Prospective patients should be aware that their virtual model means they outsource any labs. I found quest diagnostics to be ok for blood work but they messed up other labs and were inconvenient in terms of location for me and have no phone number to call if you have questions.

I found it difficult to get timely appointments with my primary care doctor.

The lack of physical location meant that testing that couldn’t be done by Quest required referrals to specialists that add time and complexity.

I had an ongoing health issue that was tackled in a linear fashion that added weeks to the process because we tried one thing after another instead of testing for multiple issues right away.

I ended up switching practices and my nee doctor ordered a SIBO test to be overnighted to my house instead of having me wait weeks to see a GI specialist and I am finally on the road to recovery after a positive test result came back.

I expect that Firefly will continue to evolve their services to better utilize at home testing options and have faster referrals and a network of specialists since they closed their watertown location and went fully virtual, but I encourage patients to think about whether a virtual practice that outsources everything is the best fit for them.

They are great people working to advance the way we use technology for medical care but there are some things that would be much more easily addressed in person.

The way healthcare should be

Simply amazing. Great app, great doctors. I am a doctor and this is truly how healthcare should be. Hard to imagine ever going back to the antiquated traditional model.
