About

Make a star map of the night your child was born, or the evening you were married: the real sky over that place on that date, drawn as a plate you can print, frame or send. Firmament works the sky out on your iPhone and writes the place, its coordinates and the date onto the plate, so the print explains itself. You choose the spot and the moment. Any city, any date, past or future. What comes back is the sky that was there, computed from standard astronomical formulas, and the numbers on it are the real ones: the sunrise you see is the sunrise that happened. WHAT IS ON THE PLATE For the place and the minute you picked: - The bright stars overhead, at their true bearings and heights. - Where the sun rose and where it set, with the compass bearing of each. - First light and last light, solar noon, and the length of that day. - The moon's phase and its exact illumination. - The place name, the coordinates and the date, set in the plate itself. HOW YOU MAKE ONE Search any place by name. Pick the day on a calendar, then drag the hour slider and watch the sky turn until the minute is right. Any date works, past or future: a birthday from 1987, or a wedding date next June. When the plate looks right, share it. Save it to your photos, print it, or send it to someone, straight from the share sheet. A GIFT THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF Every plate carries the place, the coordinates and the date, so whoever you hand it to can read what it is without being told. The export is a finished object with no app chrome on it: the sky, its ledger, the place and the date, and nothing else. WHAT IS FREE AND WHAT IS PAID Making a plate is free. Search any place, set any day, and export the plate with a small Firmament mark on it. The Plates unlock is a single one-time purchase. It adds: - Watermark-free export at print resolution (three times the screen). - Every plate finish. Midnight, deep navy under the brass ring, is free; Ink, a flat near-black ground, and Dusk, a lighter night, come with the unlock. - A saved library of your plates, so you can come back to a date and export it again. You buy the unlock once and it is yours. Nothing in this app renews. COMPUTED ON YOUR DEVICE The astronomy runs on your iPhone. Firmament has no server of its own, no account and no analytics. The one thing that uses the network is the place search, which turns a typed name into coordinates through the phone's built-in maps lookup; the sky itself is computed on the device. WHAT IT NEVER ASKS YOU FOR Firmament asks for no account, no sign-up and no location permission, and it shows no ads. It works from a place name and a date you type, and nothing you make leaves the phone unless you share it. WHO IT IS FOR People who want the sky over a date that mattered, made into an object: a birthday, a wedding, the town they grew up in. It is also a gift you can make in a few minutes and print at home, with no order to place and no shipping to wait for. Firmament makes a keepsake of one moment. It does not point your phone at the sky to identify stars, and it is not a planetarium: the plate is the product. ONE-TIME PURCHASE Firmament is not a subscription. The Plates unlock is a single one-time purchase (a non-consumable). It never renews and there are no recurring charges. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. You can restore your purchase at any time from Settings inside the app. Terms of Use (EULA): https://hadgerapps.github.io/firmament/terms/ Privacy Policy: https://hadgerapps.github.io/firmament/privacy/ From Hadger studio: privacy-first, no account, no analytics.
