Great Potential
After initial confusion during signup (watch out—it is far too easy to accidentally subscribe under the wrong username), I got Flat running on my iPad.
The Good: Good integration for reading and sharing files alongside my MuseScore library, serving as a basic mobile preview tool.
The Bad: The native iPad app suffers from severe interface omissions. Basic operations require frustrating workarounds—there is no direct way to duplicate a score to test draft variations, nor is there a simple option to swap an instrument part without manually adding a new staff and copy-pasting notes. Furthermore, the visual engraving quality falls short of desktop standards like MuseScore.
Since Notion on iPad consistently fails to import shared MusicXML files, Flat is currently my only mobile companion for laptop score work. However, given the subscription price and missing core features, the iPad app feels unfinished.
It is an innovative platform, and I hope future updates bring the iPad app up to standard so I can reconsider this rating.

Drumline update??
I really like how easy it is to make drumline music using this app but to make this even better is adding a spike for the tenor drums so they can have 2 spocks, For the bass drums id really like the rims for each individual drum and also rimshots. Lastly i think maybe a “thicker” gock sound for the snares would be killer but other than that this is a really good writing app for the go

Good app
This is a great app but i wish that i didn't have to pay in order to make more than 15 songs. Please take it off. But overall its a great app.🙂🙂🙂🙂

Please add a feature where you can ‘lock’ measures to prevent them from change bc I hate accidentally screwing smthn up :/

I highly recommend this app if you want to make or find music to play and I love the way everything is easy to work with, one thing I would change is the blue note on the music In the front to where you could make it a custom image, but other than that I highly recommend!

Ridiculous Charges
I’ve had this app for years and have always used it to help me better learn my parts when playing in my high school band. A couple days ago I was using the app to work on an arrangement and everything was as normal. Today I have went on again and have noticed that the option to transpose the notes has now been locked behind a paywall. It has literally always been free and I used it quite frequently so for them to now be charging to use the at function is absolutely ridiculous. This is one of the only good and (to an extent) free composition apps and the way they seem to be charging for everything now is frustrating. I hope they make it a free function again.

The best music creation app
Great tool
Ive been using this app for almost a year and its been so easy to use and so fun transcribing and writing stuff. Highly recommend, and i also recommend the premium feature.
Power user’s experience
Good stuff - just 2 bugs need to be fixed.
1. Fix the transposing bug when transposing but selecting “don’t change key signature”, nothing changes.
2. There is a Flat Power popup every day I download a pdf / audio file. I do have Flat Power. Can you remove this false pop-up?

Great! But deny basic rights
Why do multi measure rests cost money? That is a basic right being denied. Otherwise love it sooo much.
Hard to use
Flat is a hard to use app for the different instruments that require for me to pay so I would not recommend but other than that it’s a good enough app to use to create a good arrangements
It’s good but stopped working
I love flat use it everyday but when I want to listen to other people songs most of the instruments don’t work and won’t make a sound plz fix it this is my favorite app❤️🙏
The transpose feature
don’t understand why the transpose feature was turned into a paid Power feature when it used to be free. It was one of the most useful tools for musicians, especially students like me who rely on it to practice, learn music in different keys, or switch between instruments. Taking a feature that has always been available and suddenly locking it behind a subscription feels like a downgrade instead of an improvement.
I understand that apps need ways to make money, but moving existing free features behind a paywall isn’t the best way to do it. It makes longtime users feel like they’re losing something they already had, rather than gaining new premium features. A better approach would be to keep the transpose feature free and reserve Power for brand new tools and improvements.
Please consider bringing the transpose feature back for everyone. A lot of musicians, students, and longtime users depended on it, and making it free again would show that you value the community that helped support the app in the first place.

anyway this app really helps me when i’m writing songs because i often only have lyrics and since i can only play piano and guitar it makes my songs sound very similar after a while. having a bunch of instruments to chose from and make music with is so convenient when i know what i want it to sound like bit i can’t do it myself.

Very very gud
This app is really awesome and helps with finding great music that you don’t have to spend money on to print. I use this more than other paid apps such as Musicscore due to its wide variety of music as well as its easy to download and print abilities.
