Fun app but has issues

The UI is buggy and sometimes overlaps data you want to read and some menus take up too much space and you can’t dismiss them, just feels clunky.

It’s also hard to tell when the app is trying to connect to ATC streams as the UI doesn’t make it massively obvious.

Definitely an app I’ll keep using but I’d love to see more customisation and bug fixes/optimisations

Forces you to pay

No option to even see what the app looks like, how it runs or what it does without signing up for payment. No thanks.

FAQ

What does FlightDeck do?

FlightDeck is a real-time flight tracker that uses ADS-B data to show you thousands of flights worldwide. It goes beyond basic tracking by providing AI-generated briefs that explain what's happening with a flight, such as diversions or ground stops, and offers detailed airport and weather information.

What are the key features of FlightDeck?

Key features include a live flight tracking map with detailed aircraft information, AI-generated flight briefs for context, the ability to spot notable aircraft like military jets, weather intelligence overlays, detailed airport data, custom alerts, and emergency squawk detection.

How much does FlightDeck cost?

FlightDeck requires a subscription for full access to all features, including live tracking, AI briefs, and custom alerts. Subscriptions are available on a monthly or yearly basis, with payment charged to your Apple ID account. The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

What kind of flights can I track?

You can track thousands of commercial flights worldwide using real ADS-B data. The app also highlights notable aircraft, including military tankers, government jets, and law enforcement helicopters, allowing you to spot special-interest aircraft in real time.

Can I set up alerts for flights?

Yes, FlightDeck offers custom alerts that can be set up in plain language. You can create geofence alerts, such as being notified when a military aircraft flies within a certain radius, or track specific flights and receive notifications for takeoff, descent, and landing.
