I have a problem forgetting the name of this particular house plant, that has a lovely scent and pretty flowers that start out pink and turn purple. I love being able to just take a photo and solve the naming problem!

I have used this app to identify plants in France, Germany and the United States from Washington State to Arkansas. It has been a delightful help and seems to be quite accurate. I especially like how it rates its certainty on each identification.

Hidden gem
I was using another paid app but it became too expensive. So I tried this in my wildflower meadow garden and it seems to be pretty accurate and is fun to use.

Floral Incognita is a great app if you live outside of the United States. However for those of us in the U.S., the descriptions often do not apply to us. For example, plants such as Lesser Celandine do not have anything in the description about how extraordinarily invasive this plant is in the U.S. All of the plants on the Invasive List in my state have absolutely nothing negative described about them, simply because this app is based out of Germany, and those plants may not be invasive there.

Handy way to resolve disputes!
So useful when out walking and the (almost) inevitable argument starts about the names of plants encountered en route. Our rural rambles are much more enjoyable as a result!

I don’t know what’s happened to this app. What ever it is has been a disaster. The app now return nothing useful. Is it broken? Do I need to pay? Avoid. I’m writing this as I prepare to delete this app for good.
