It works, but it’s a bit too easy to can el blocks.
You can cancel blocks during their inactive time of the day, which makes it too easy to revert to bad habits.

I LOVE THIS APP!! For people reading this, the app has been unfairly rated far lower than it deserves due to The Fruit having a go at trying to take over app blockers when they intro’d their ineffective “screentime”. But apart from what’s beyond their control, the devs have created a phenomenal product.
And again for people reading who will already know what this app does- I’ve been a “Lifer” for years and the customer service is also absolutely top notch. I’m in the UK and used to at least 8 hr gaps when using CS email, but I’ve always had a response within the hour if not right away. Proactive, polite, efficient and knowledgeable. Chef’s kiss.
The app itself? It has a softer side but my squirrel brain needs the harsh discipline of a taskmaster giving me exactly what I asked for with no safe word. And it provides.
Is it intuitive? Maybe not, but the learning curve is barely a bump and the hardest thing is YOU have to decide what you want and execute it, the app can’t do that for you.

Auf dem iPhone viel zu leicht zu umgehen – dafür habe ich nicht bezahlt
Ich bin enttäuscht von Freedom auf dem iPhone. Einen laufenden Zeitplan kann man umgehen, indem man einfach Datum oder Uhrzeit ändert und sich so in ein erlaubtes Zeitfenster versetzt. Damit verliert der Locked Mode für mich seinen eigentlichen Sinn. Ich habe Freedom gekauft, weil ich eine strikte Sperre wollte, die sich nicht mit wenigen Handgriffen ausheben lässt. Hätte ich vorher gewusst, wie leicht die iPhone Version umgangen werden kann, hätte ich die App wahrscheinlich nicht gekauft. Abo gekündigt!

Ich blocke YouTube, Netflix & Co 24/7 auf allen Geräten.
Obwohl ich keine social media Accounts habe, hat mir Freedom schon viel Zeit erspart. Einfach session an und schon biste offline oder zumindest sind die ganzen interessanten Mediatheken und Youtube geblockt :)

Great, but clearer please!
This is a great app and does everything I want it to, but the interface needs to be clearer: not in terms of visuals, but in terms of whether it is going to do what you want it to so. For example, the Distractions box feels redundant, because the whole purpose of the app is to remove distractions. Does ticking “websites” remove ALL websites - I don’t really know! It would be nice to have a small (i) linked popup that tells you what each option did.

App is a little complex but this gives you great flexibility to create the setup you like, and the effort to create it makes the journey more intentional. Really like the update giving you the option to lock out your sessions, I was in the habit of giving myself 5 min breaks over and over again. The lifetime option is by far the best value, just go for it

Everyone should have this app on their phone
If you setup the Shortcuts app to close the VPN deletion loophole then this app’s impulse prevention mechanism is airtight. This is literally the best app that exists.

The amount of IT support messaging and screenshots you need to fix it whenever you attempt to use it is insane. Most useless app I have ever bought.
