Didn’t Help

I downloaded the trial version to try to identify a peeping noise in the backyard. Instead the app kept identifying nearby traffic noise as a Southern Leopard Frog. If I was REALLY into identifying frog sounds I could see paying a ONE-TIME charge of $2.99 for the app, but $2.99 a month forever for an app that didn’t work for me? No thanks.

Didn’t work

Account setup was clunky. Got it to work, but then it errored on my first frog identification. My phone is the latest with all updates. I don’t think there’s a way to have the app reference a recording already taken. .

A good start

Identifies species fairly reliably. The A.I. will continue to learn and only get better I'm sure. The educational resources are handy too. My boy's loved giving this a try. It's practically impossible to sneak up on some species to see what type of frog they are, and being able to use the calls is genius!

One star because it’s no longer free!

One star because it’s no longer free! The app was terrible anyways and nothing like that famous bird call app only giving you one species of at once and most always not even a species found in the area you are in! I was in upstate ny (real upstate) and it was giving me frog ids that don’t from NJ of all places!

While the app now includes a subscription to support its continued development, there is a free trial so you can explore its features before committing. As for species accuracy, we’re constantly improving our model and rely on user feedback like yours to make it better. The model is trained on real-world recordings, but location-based accuracy is still a work in progress, especially in overlapping regions like Upstate NY and NJ, where some frogs do share ranges. That said, your point is valid, and we’ll use it to guide improvements. We truly appreciate you trying the app and hope to earn back your trust with future updates.

Awesome App!

This is the premier frog spotting app, the best that I have personally used. Can’t wait to become a naturalist. Would recommend 10/10, even worked for calling in a frog.

Good Identifier

I’m impressed with the accuracy of the AI to identify the frogs by me, I compared the ID results to calls given in the app and it got all the species I heard by me correct. It seems to work well!

This will take you to the species profile to better learn about the frog you're hearing. No sample recordings

I was hoping that this app would have frog songs available to listen to as well as the live recording ID. I heard frogs this afternoon and downloaded this to play back prerecorded songs to find the one I heard.
