Pretty freaking awesome
Unfortunately I had to lower the stars. This app used to be great. But it is bugging out so badly now. The names of expenses/income keep going blank. Bars are appearing in random spots as I scroll. The total expenses/income at the bottom keeps disappearing and reappearing. And then I get asked to upgrade. NO lol fix your free version first š¤¦āāļø
Love the simplicity.
The only downside is that my spouse has updated to the latest version of iOS and so her balance bar has disappeared. Mine is still there because Iām on a lower version and not planning on updating anytime soon because of that.
We emailed them about the issue and they responded back saying that the app canāt be updated without deleting everyoneās data and that theyāre working on Fudget 2. I hope thatās soon because I really like Fudget 1.
Want to love itā¦
Update: The problems stated above have been fixed. It is a worthy app! So far best I have discovered. It would be nice to have a feature to separate out savings or other types of funds (like emergency fund or new dress fund) from the running balance. This would make it easier to compare balance in Fudget to my actual checking account without having to subtract. But this is not a deal breaker, but would easily take it to the next level.
Cannot Recommend App Enough
This app is straightforward, effective, and easy to understand. I love that I can set up multiple budgets to keep my eye on without having to pay a bunch of subscriptions. In fact, once I save up a little bit of money, I plan to buy the one time payment for the full app experience (the payment is definitely not a lot! Itās less than $10. Iām just a very broke 20 year old haha)! Thatās how pleased I am with this app!! I hope more people will be able to find this app and also support the developer :)
I love this ~ a lot
It also makes a useful basic checking account register.
Exactly what I was looking for!!
Update: Now after having used this app for years, I would like to see a feature that would allow me to sort the list of budgets created. I have so many that I now have to scroll down very far to get to the most recent budgets. I keep everything and now am resorting to the backups that are not fun to do.
Excellent
The only suggestion I have is that it would be nice to have the ability to copy/paste a budget. As I mentioned, I keep a base monthly budget with all my monthly bills and anticipated monthly expenses and I usually re-enter the same expenses for each month that I wish I could just copy and paste.
I just started using the free version today
My main complaint about these apps is they donāt give you anyway to include expenses charged to a credit card. I wound up making a second budget for my credit card and Jerry-rigged it so I can use the pie charts from my bank account budget and credit card budget to see what Iām actually spending and where, by manually adding the categories. Tedious, but hey⦠better than nothing. I donāt need to share my data across different devices and I can sort the categories with the pie chart so I donāt really need the features you charge for. If you figure out a way I can combine the expenses from my two budgets without screwing up my balances Iād pay you for that. And give you another star. Also, line graphs of my different categories of expenses over time would be awesome. Like which months am I spending more on the horses, on my supplements, on my truck, etc etc Thatās worth another star for sure!!
But thanks! Best, most user-friendly effort Iāve tried so far. šš
Simple, easy, and gets the job done!
Elegant and simple
So far it's been the only budget app I've found that let's me create a basic budget, an overview of income vs living expenses like bills. And does the math. I don't want to track transactions and itemized spending - I have an app that does that from my accounts. It's not useful.
This Is An Excellent App!
Suggestions for even more efficiency: 1. Cloud sync to all devices. 2. After creating a new budget and tapping into it, when asked to carry over starred items, enable choosing which budget to import those starred items from as opposed to the most recently created. 3. Make a Remove All Paid Marks From Entries option (to start the budget fresh, for example at the start of a new month). 4. Add an Undo option to Undo deletion of an entry (I still use Appleās shake to Undo, hehe).
Thanks for all your hard work! Iām gonna show this app to my cousin tomorrow to help him establish a budget šš.
Tastes like fudge
Great Potential For A Solid Budget Application
This is THE ONE!!
Simple and Elegant
The one suggestion I would make, that would help me is to include the capability to use multiple currency symbols. In my case, most of my income and some of my expenses are in US Dollars. However, I donāt live in the States and most of my day-to-day expenses are in another currency. I set up a budget to track cash expenses, but Iām forced to use the $ symbol since thatās the currency symbol for other budgets. Itās a minor annoyance but an annoyance nonetheless.
Not so great
I think that the app is too rudimentary, it lacks important features, and it is hard to organize different budgets. while I was using the app I had trouble organizing and categorizing my spendings. I needed to keep track of the things that I bought, but I also needed to categorize them into different categories without the help of the app. I ended up having to create twice as many budgets to keep track of where I spent my money, along with which type of category it went to. but once I figured out how to do it it did become easier to use.
the app also lacks certain features that would have made it a lot easier to operate. for example, the calculator is unavailable to the non-paid version, (as stated above) there is no easy way of categorizing, and there is no guide to teach the useful features. these traits, if implemented, can make the app much more efficient and easy to use.
regardless the app does have some useful features; and to some, simplicity can be useful. the app does allow you to see where a percentage of your budget goes, it allows for dates to be recorded, and it also allows for charts.
all in all the app is not the best. but it does have some useful features. It has room for improvement, and if changes are made, it would be a great app to use.
Just got it and am putting it to good use! But...got a few questions
However, when I attempted to reach out to āDannyā to ask a question (from my iPad), the window opened prompting me to set up a new email account. If I had an email address, I could just open one of the four email accounts already on this machine and reach out to him from there. So that experience wasnāt ideal. The reason I wanted to reach out to him, is that I wanted to know if there is a way I can schedule or list expenses that occur bi-weekly or weekly, opposed to monthly? If there is, I am not sure how to find it. Please advise. Thx in advance!
Response from developer
Hi Itismyrealname, Thanks for your review. Sorry you had trouble with the email option. It is supposed to just open your default email account with a draft email to send to me. With Fudget, it's best to pick a system (either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) and only stick to that system. You can't really mix the three together. If you wanted to go with bi-weekly, you could just create a budget for each fortnight, e.g. "Oct 15 - Oct 28" "Oct 29 - Sep 11" Hope this helps. Cheers, Danny
Just Right!!

Hi CarariChtac, Thanks for your review & kind words. You might find the Star feature useful for recurring items. Please follow these steps: - open your most recent budget - swipe left on any items that you want to repeat month to month and tap Star - once you've finished starring items, create a new budget. All your starred items will be added to the new budget. Hope this helps! Cheers, Danny
The Only Budget App You Need
I wanted something simple and easy and thatās exactly what this is! As an independent contractor thereās a lot to prepare for and save for later. Iām able to create multiple budgets to keep track - Christmas gifts savings, emergency savings, tax savings, and monthly budgets. I can also create budgets to plan for the month ahead. I immediately felt my stress float away after using this app. Helped with so much that was once a headache.
Thank you!!! Also you need this app!
