Get Crunchyroll.
If you aint reading allat, just stay away from funimation and just get crunchyroll or pirate shows.
Ads and more (again)
Good selection of content. Trash Apps
They have a great selection of content. At least, I’m happy with it.
The Bad:
I use this on iPhone and Apple TV. On the iPhone when browsing through the full library it will sometimes say it can’t communicate with the servers. This always happens with certain shows like when I try to add DBZ or Naruto to my queue.
It also seems like there is some content available on my phone that’s not available on Apple TV. Like I can watch Akira on my phone, but when I go to the info for it on TV it says there’s no videos.
The Apple TV app is the worst. When I view the details for a show or movie, the back button doesn’t return me to the previous screen; instead it takes me to the main menu. I then have to navigate through the menus back to where I was. When browsing shows it always defaults to most recently added. I switch to alphabetical to make it easier to find what I’m looking for, but it doesn’t let me jump through the alphabet. Then as I said before, if I view something I then have to start all over.
I also tried to navigate to Naruto or DBZ to add them to my queue on my TV, but the app crashes when I try to view them.
Recommendations:
* Fix the back button functionality to work like the rest of Apple TV apps
* Add scroll by letter function / jump to letter function
* Have a disclaimer if a show isn’t available on all supported platforms
* Get an Apple TV for your QA team to test on
terrible..😐
Failure at every turn
On mobile it will fail to load most times you pull up the app. It will forget your watch history and what you had to your que. 5Mo ago there was a patch that states they fixed their chromcast not connecting. Welp I’ve tried to two chromcasts, one Roku and 2 screen mirrors and it doesn’t work. I tried with other apps just to make sure and they all worked fine.
The app you can download from your smart tv(I have a Samsung). Let’s you sign in just fine. Then proceeds to get stuck in the loading homepage phase. I left it up 30 minutes and it never finished. Pretty basic app that is basically just cloned now a days and it’s super surprising it doesn’t even function half the time. I wouldn’t download and I’m going to cancel my subscription. Do not pay full price for less than full product people. They profit while we “wait” for what the apps is suppose to do in the first place.
Only good for computers
Great app but
Better than I remember it but still not great
Like I said I’m usually okay with ads (I understand they still need to make money off my freeloading) but I feel like this app just made it far too obnoxious and nearly impossible to enjoy watching anything.
Was a good app
I pay for the premium plus subscription so I can watch everything. Why am I paying to watch commercials? I understand if the free accounts have this but the premium plus? Any other film app either doesn’t have any commercials or does the one commercial at the start if you are paying a subscription.
This has bothered me for awhile now. When I started using this app I enjoyed it. Finally a place to get to watch all the anime you want. But with this change, adding all these commercials to paying customer is starting to change my mind. I feel like they went from caring about customer experience to more about the money.
Great before, but recently… there has been an issue.
Edit: Truth be told, I’ve been looking for reasons to switch to Crunchyroll anyways lately, because of its expansive library of anime, and ease of access to most features in its menu/Home Screen format.
Okay when it works, terrible otherwise.
A fallen beacon
All in all, Funimation has become a joke of a streaming service and an unreliable supplier of legally obtained dubbed anime tv series and movies. They are sellouts and aiding Crunchyroll with creating a monopoly over the American anime market.
Great when it works and not just buffering…
Thanks
