About

Garita is the border-crossing app that tells you not just how long the line is, but which line to get in and how to get there. ONE MAP OF EVERY LINE See San Ysidro and Otay Mesa from above, with every line drawn and colored by its wait: All Traffic, Ready Lane, SENTRI (both San Ysidro entrances, including Calle Segunda), and the Medical Lane. Live traffic from Apple Maps. THE BEST WAY ACROSS, FOR YOU Tell Garita which documents you have, and it adds your drive time to each line's wait and ranks the lanes you can actually use. DIRECTIONS TO THE BACK OF THE RIGHT LINE Map apps often send drivers into the wrong lane. Garita gives you the waypoint to go through first, then the exact start of your line, in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, with step-by-step tips in English and Spanish. REAL WAITS FROM REAL DRIVERS Tap Start Timer when you get in line. Garita keeps your time on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, notices when you cross, and offers to share your real wait anonymously with everyone else. ALERTS THAT TELL YOU WHEN TO GO "Tell me when San Ysidro's Ready Lane drops under 45 minutes." Set it once and Garita lets you know, with its forecast of when that usually happens. FIND A SENTRI INTERVIEW SOONER See the soonest SENTRI interview at every enrollment center, from Otay Mesa to Brownsville, straight from CBP's scheduler. Garita can alert you when an earlier opening appears, then you book it on CBP's site. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO • Every crossing on one map, colored by its wait, with the ones near you first • Live waits for all 39 U.S.–Mexico crossings: cars and pedestrians, Standard, Ready Lane and SENTRI • "Over usual" or "under usual" next to every number • A 12-hour forecast with the best hour to cross • A typical-week heatmap, best times by day, busiest months • Holiday warnings based on last year's real numbers • Plan a crossing: "be across by 8:30" tells you when to get in line • Cameras near the line • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Siri and Shortcuts • Fully in English and Spanish Garita is free with no ads. Optional tips help put live cameras on the line. Wait times come from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Garita is not affiliated with CBP or any government agency. Forecasts and driver reports are estimates; always follow officers' directions and posted signs.

What's New in Garita

1.0.4

October 31, 2026

New: directions to the END of the line. On long nights the line runs past where map apps send you. Garita estimates where each car line ends, shows a flag on the map, and starts your directions at the back of the line. As Garita users time their waits, it learns where the line really ends. New: Garita keeps you company in line. Tap "I'm in line" for a timer, about how long is left and how many cars are ahead, how many other Garita users are in your line, and tips and border history to read. While your car is rolling, it shows only the clock (riding along? tap "I'm a Passenger"). New: hands-free with Siri. Say "Hey Siri, I'm in line in Garita" to start the timer and "Hey Siri, I'm across in Garita" when you're through. Or tap "I'm Across" right on the Lock Screen. New: Share My ETA. One tap tells whoever is picking you up when Garita expects you across. Also: • Going south? Switch Wait Times to "To Mexico" for Caltrans's southbound waits at San Ysidro and Otay. • Every wait shows how old CBP's reading is, and old readings no longer pass for new ones or set off alerts. • Cards say the level in words ("Heavy · 20 min over usual"), plus CBP's lane notices and "6 of 34 open". • Walkers can pick "Pedestrians" when setting up. Settings has its own gear button. • Clearer colors, better Spanish, larger text support, and VoiceOver fixes.
