I keep getting a black screen and the course won’t load. Very frustrating and makes my R10 unusable

Amazing app and easy to use!
Venue X1 Unusable
Purchased the X1 worked great until last update. App is unusable. Crashes before round is over loosing ALL data. Watch has to be restarted then you run the chance of loosing data again. Garmin has been aware of the issue for 6 weeks and still have not fixed the issue. Selling my X1 if anyone is interested.

It gets worse
If only I could give zero stars!! Garmin continue to push out bug filled updates. On this one all tee shots appear to be hit from the rough and after editing in the app it doesn’t save the change.
This builds on the failure to register golf as activity that they broke with an update 10 months ago. A bug recognised by support and still not fixed. My £700 watch broke by Garmin themselves.
You need to be better! You need more transparency with your bugs and publish progress reports and uodates. Maybe get some of us involved in testing?

Best Purchase in a Long Time
I’ve tried numerous apps. Some with sensors, and some without. I don’t want to carry a range finder. My friend had a garmin golf watch and I was relying on him when we played together. I bought the S44 and it is perfect for my needs. Great watch for golf.
Script Size
I notice recent update has some nice features. Eg 3d and expand view so you can actually now see teeing positions clearly. However the script size really small, and does not expand with expanding view. Was this actually ever tested with a focus!! group?
Another item. When I used Garminconnect first a few years ago, golf rounds showed on Calender, colour coded with other activities. I liked beiing able to go to one place and see all activities, swim , gym, golf.Any prosect of returnig to that?

Why can’t you integrate with USGA
Disappointed the app can’t pull in or submit rounds for real handicaps. Please invest in this

Terrible app for driving range and tracking shots. You’ll be lucky if it works at all. It will either load at a black screen, load into the driving range successfully and track a few shots then go back to a black screen, or start flashing after a shot and eventually go to a black screen. I have to troubleshoot every time I want to use the garmin app and have spent 10-15 mins every time I use it. None of the solutions garmin offer work at all. I have restarted my r10 and phone, and disconnected/reconnected Bluetooth what feels like a 100 times now in the month I’ve owned it. My advice is to download Awesome Golf Simulator. It is a subscription but completely worth it if you don’t want to waste your time with the garmin app.

Needs an Apple Watch app for course scores and GPS distances
Would be nice with a lifetime pay once purchase with an addition of an apple watch app then I would buy it. I’m looking for a golf gps app for the watch and this is the closest thing. Maybe also pair with an optional small yearly fee to update courses if desired

This app used to work sporadically, but at least upload to Strava. Now it doesn't either it's utter garbage And apparently Garmin doesn't care.

Can’t connect watch
It’s impossible to connect a device on this app. The pairing dialogue box doesn’t open the keyboard so you can’t type the code in. Utterly useless

My biggest problem with this app is that it doesn’t seem to automatically identify statistical outliers for yardages. For example it claims my max drive is 450 yards - and I think the only way to fix this myself would be to scrub through every single hole to find where it thinks this happened and deleting that shot. It’s really frustrating that garmin can’t identify obviously wrong data and omit it from stats. Would LOVE to see this improved.

Map screen black
Can't even use the simulator or practice purpose of this since the screen is always black you can't see your ball flight. At good point it provides nothing extra that a $200 device does. They need to fix this because half the function doesn't work.
Range help
When the app is working properly, it’s a fantastic tool. It gives you serious data to help. Adjust your swing and contact. Unfortunately the device sometimes stops working and like most Garmin products. The charging system is very old-school using micro USB. Unfortunately in Hawaii in a marine environment, all of my previous Garmin watches and bike equipment, charging system rust out. I won’t use Garmin again after this stops working. Otherwise it’s fantastic.

Great… when it works
Love it for using with my R10, but I have to uninstall it and reinstall it about every other driving range session because of black screen. Annoying! Fix it!
Practice display goes black?
Anyone else having trouble with the practice field image going black? I’ve cleared my default browser history and website data, reinstalled the app, and made sure I have 100% battery. Just started happening after the last update…
Garbage App you should fire your devs
The Garmin R10 hardware is decent. The software is absolute garbage.
Nothing says “premium launch monitor” like standing on the range deleting the app, reconnecting Bluetooth, recalibrating the device, and praying it records a shot. Half the time I’m troubleshooting Garmin’s bugs instead of practicing golf.
The most frustrating part is that these are clearly software failures, not user errors because after that ridiculous recovery loop it works again. Garmin should be embarrassed to ship an app this unreliable and then leave customers to waste range sessions fighting with it.
I regret buying it. Do better, this is a pathetic product.
